This was like the Wall Street Journal for me in like 1998.
Found this is a used game. Unbelievable find, if you remember Funcoland!
3rd column, near the middle. Little Samson: $4.99.
Meanwhile Vegas Dreams was a skull crushing $29.99 in comparison. Weird times. I got my copy of Little Samson for a bright shiny quarter back then from a used bookstore and I'm pretty sure Vegas Dreams was in the 10 for a dollar bin.
I really want someone like Retro-Bit to remake a bunch of these older, hard to find and "valuable" games just to stick it to the scalpers and hoarders. Plus I want to play Little Samson but legitimately and on original hardware.
Bootlegs are available plenty, so are flash carts. This wouldn't do anything to prices, as people want a complete collection of "originals", the people driving the prices don't care for bootlegs.
I agree on the pricing points, but I'd rather not resort to just grabbing a rom and putting it on a flash cart if I can help it. Having an official repro would be the preferred option. Sure, if it doesn't look like that will ever happen I'll enter that grey area.
I went to see what a Japanese copy goes for and its still out of my price range. I'm tempted to just get a bootleg of it. I have an Everdrive already so i may just play it on that. Not like i have the option to give the developers any money.
I'd be all for that. Little Samson is a really fun game and I wish more people could experience it.
What year was this?
Sometime between 1996-99.
1996
Ali-express is your friend.
Stadium events is also a five spot.
Stupid collectors
Stadium events $4.99
I’d love a pdf of this
Just go to Retromags and grab the pdf of literally any issue of EGM or GamePro from the early 90s
Lol you fucking framed it. SMB .25 yeap I member. I can point exactly where the store used to be. Twas a simpler time.
Die Hard at $4.99. Local retro store currently has it listed for $800... if only I knew back then.
Stadium Events $4.99 😂
I take every copy out there at the time for that
I definitely remember how Dragon Warrior II-IV were all incredibly valuable even back then.
Now this is a throwback
I had around 50 Funcoland NES sleeves in various colors. They gave it to me when they were getting rid of NES. Few years later dumped them on eBay, it sold for a decent amount, I guess there were some Funcoland collectors.
This proves my theory:
Home Improvement > Hagane
I remember buying my complete copy of Final Fantasy for $17.99 at Funcoland. I wonder if I still have one of these price sheets.
Those Madden prices are surprising. Love this.
Thank you for posting this! I loved those papers. I always grabbed one on my way out of Funcoland. My older brother got us a new NES after the first one broke down, after we got our SNES. I was so happy to be able to play the classic Mega Man and Castlevania games that were stuck in my head since I was a toddler
You’re welcome! It’s just was an unbelievable find my wife found this in a complete inbox pitfall for the super NES for $12
Thank you for posting this, memories!
Np! Loved this place!
Fucking awesome, dude! I loved FuncoLand
Np man! Same
My first job was at funcoland, 16-18. Looks to be around the time I worked there.
I really got into nes collecting then, I wish I never sold my games but c'est la vie!
Last column, Hagane $29.99
Thank you for saving and sharing. Brings back fond memories of paying less than a buck for a new game to play.
I remember seeing Little Samson on that list and thinking it was a Wisdom Tree Bible game.
FuncoLand was amazing as a kid. I remember poring over these price sheets looking for deals and games I wanted for next time I got to go.
I would underline all the ones on my wishlist, and compare prices the next time I went in.
Exactly what I did!
Totally forgot about these
Fucholand!
Flinstones 2 - 11.99
I still have an NES cart sleeve from Funco
Nice find. Those prices are so nostalgic. Gargoyle's Quest 2: $4.99.
You should add the updated picture 😉
Brings back memories
Track and Field-$4.99
