Mount St. Mary's University delivers education at the highest level, with service and experiential learning used to enhance and extend our classroom study. We offer more than 80 undergraduate majors, minors, concentrations and special programs grounded in the Catholic liberal arts tradition, and several bachelor's/master's combinations in partnership with other universities. We also offer more than 20 graduate degrees, postgraduate certificates and adult undergraduate completion degrees through our five distinctive schools and divisions. In addition to the main Mount St. Mary's University campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland, we have a campus in Frederick dedicated to supporting our graduate and adult learners.

  • Mount St. Mary's Seminary

    Mount St. Mary's Seminary is the second oldest Catholic seminary in the United States. At of the start of the third millennium, 51 alumni priests have been consecrated to the episcopacy.

  • National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes

    The National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, a Catholic national shrine devoted to the Blessed Mother Mary, is a place of worship, pilgrimage, evangelization and reconciliation. The shrine includes the Grotto of Lourdes Cave which is the oldest known replica of the French shrine in the United States. The placid site also features the Miller Family Visitor Center, a 95-foot tower topped with a gold-leafed bronze statue of the Blessed Mother, and devotional statue gardens.

    Our mountain is home to many "Sacred Spaces" which serve as living examples of our commitment to our faith and as places for the entire Mount community to reflect and pray.
