"Walk Like a Wrestler"
Just thought I'd share this here. I'm in a Filipino martial arts class and I was walking with a classmate after the first lesson. He asked me if I was a wrestler, and I told him I had wrestled a lot in high school and still did a bit, and asked him how he knew. He said that I "walk like a wrestler". I asked him if he meant we had a specific gait, and he said yes. Apparently during his undergrad he was friends with a bunch of Rider's team.
TL;DR: Us wrestlers have a distinctive gait.

The walk is definitely a thing. I'm not sure what exactly it is characterized by, but you can definitely pick out a wrestler by the way they walk 9/10 times. I started college a few years ago, and I would definitely have known who my teammates were before the first team meeting even if I hadn't looked them up.
My wife came to watch my team wrestle this past weekend and she commented that all my guys walk like me. I asked her what she meant and she just said "you all have a wrestler's walk". Thought that was pretty cool.
I wonder if I have the gait...
I think its chest out, chin up, arms slightly bent (but never resting on our sides) and legs wider than shoulder width like our stances.
10 years later and can you tell now?
I just limp now, nothing to do with wrestling though

Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed that a few wrestler friends and I have a slower walk than most. As if we don't have anywhere important to be.
Yeah I'd agree, slower walking definitely comes from it
