Suzy Nakamura

Bio

Suzy was born and raised in Chicago, the greatest city in the world. Her first starring role was as Little Buttercup, in her grade school production of H.M.S. Pinafore. She still remembers her lines, so if you ever run into her ask her to do them for you.

She began her professional career doing small plays, including one show in Siberia. Seriously. It was a folktale and she played a bird and she performed it in Siberia. Eventually she was hired to tour with the Touring Company of The Second City. She also opened the first two shows at The Second City Detroit.

After moving to Los Angeles, she began guest starring on television, eventually landing recurring roles on The West Wing, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Modern Family. She currently stars with Hugh Laurie and Josh Gad in Avenue 5 on HBO.

Her film credits include notable independents Strawberry Fields (Venice Int’l Film Festival), Treasure Island (Sundance Special Jury Prize), Mike Figgis’ Timecode, Harmony and Me (ND/NF), and Afternoon Delight (Sundance).

In her spare time she likes to pet her cat, and sometimes do improvisational and sketch comedy shows around Los Angeles.
