The Halia Restaurant, a popular Botanic Gardens restaurant in Singapore, is located within the tourist attraction’s Ginger Garden section (1 Cluny Road).
Open to customers since 2001, the restaurant, where the name translates as ‘ginger‘ from Malay, is situated in the beautiful Ginger Garden, where more than 250 species of gingers and their colorful flowers thrive.
In fact, in the construction of the place, consideration was given to the special park setting, so that the architecture nicely conformed to the contours of the gardens, the dignity of mature trees, and the preservation of heritage.
Indoors, the dining room features warm earthy interiors, high ceiling, and a delightful full height glass window, allowing guests to dine and enjoy unobstructed views of the Ginger Garden.
There is also a romantic al fresco dining area, called the “Viewing Deck”, that brings diners closer to nature as well, as it sits surrounded by greenery.
The menu, meanwhile, offers fusion cuisine, with an emphasis on European flavors fused with Asian inspirations, featuring such specialties as Singapore Chilli Crab Spaghettini (in spicy, sweet & tangy sauce).

Other All Day Dining menu highlights include, for example, Slow Cooked White Pyrenees Lamb Shank (500g, Australia) (truffle mash, ginger, kaffir jus) and Seafood Singapore Laksa (tiger prawn, half-shell scallop, fish cake, egg, tau pok, bean sprout, sambal, laksa leaf, thick vermicelli noodle, spicy coconut gravy).
If you’re about to host a private event, the restaurant has “The Villa”, an events venue that has been host to product launches, board meetings, business dining, annual dinners & dance parties, seminars, and many more.
