Smeaton’s Tower

One of the most recognizable structures on Plymouth Hoe is Smeaton’s Tower, a historic lighthouse. Originally built on the Eddystone Reef in 1759 by engineer John Smeaton, it was dismantled and reassembled on the Hoe in 1884 after being replaced by a newer lighthouse. It is now a popular visitor attraction and offers panoramic views from its lantern room.
