Latest PostWe are closing our coverage of the 2023 Brit Awards
We are bringing our coverage of a great night for Harry Styles to an end. Just to remind you, he won all four of the awards he was nominated for.
Tonight's coverage was bought to you by Emily McGarvey, Mark Savage and Colin Patterson at the 02 Arena.
It was written by Imogen James and Paul Glynn and edited by Jasmine Taylor-Coleman and Jamie Whitehead.
Thank you for joining us.
How will Styles celebrate?
A little bit from the winner's press conference now and Harry Styles was asked how he will celebrate winning four awards. He said:
“I think in these moments what I want to do the most and what feels like really obvious to me is you want to go and have dinner with your friends.
"And that’s what I always find I want to do the most and yeah it just feels like, I don’t know really, I might have a drink but I leave for tour in like four days so I probably won’t go crazy, but it’s going to be fun I think, so thank you.”
Watch: Wet Leg win twice and give quirky speeches
Wet Leg picked up two Brit Awards including Best New Artist.
You can have a watch of the somewhat cryptic acceptance speeches when collecting the trophies.
Watch: Lizzo performs in that outfit
Lizzo took to the stage in a striking pink outfit and performed her single 2 Be Loved.
The American singer was nominated in international awards, but didn't go home with a trophy.
What a bleeping night
Paul Glynn
Entertainment & arts reporter
So it was a good night really - a great night in fact if you're Harry Styles or Wet Leg.
But not everything went quite to plan. The cars malfunctioned during Sam Smith's performance and they had to reset, causing the producers to have to fill for time and then rush through the remaining awards.
The person on the bleep button at ITV had a busy night too, thanks to some epic swearing from Wet Leg and Harry Styles' songwriting partner Kid Harpoon.
Then there was This Country star Daisy May Cooper, there to present an award, who made an unrepeatable joke about the Sugababes.
What do you expect on a night when even the host, Mo Gilligan was doing shots on stage with Harry Styles?
Are the Brits becoming wild again? Maybe, by accident or design.
Watch: Harry Styles dedicates Artist of the Year win to female acts
So Harry Styles is tonight's big winner, picking up four trophies including Album and Artist of the Year. In his speech for the latter he thanked his former One Direction bandmates and his mum.
He also paid tribute to some prominent female artists who didn't feature in the all-male nominations for best artist this year.
Guetta turns the 02 into a nightclub
Paul Glynn
Entertainment & arts reporter
DJ David Guetta closes the show with a bit of a boogie, with the help of Becky Hill, Ella Henderson and Sam Ryder.
"Let's turn this into the biggest club in the UK," he declared.
Adding: "Let's go!"
The performance finished with Ryder rocking out on the guitar to Guetta's Eifell 65-inspired earworm, I'm Good (Blue).
That's going to be stuck in my head all night now.
It's the final performance of the night
David Guetta is on stage and he's joined by Becky Hill and Ella Henderson.
Sam Ryder is there, too.
It's a full house for Harry's House
Imogen James
BBC News Live reporter
After sweeping up all four of the awards he was up for tonight, Harry Styles once again returns to the stage for his final speech (after a big hug with Stanley Tucci).
"There's literally no one I love more in the world than Stanley Tucci," he opens with.
"This night has been really, really special to me and I will never forget it. Thank you so much for the welcome home. There's no place like home.
"I'm so, so proud to be a British artist out there in the world."
That's a lot of thank you's for one night.
BreakingAlbum of the year goes to Harry Styles - Harry's House
This album spent six weeks at the top of the UK charts.
It's the first time he's won this most coveted of awards.
Album of the Year nominees
Here's a quick reminder of the nominees in this crowded category (below).
Harry Styles won the same award at Sunday's Grammys... just saying.
Who are the winners so far?
Here's a quick recap of which artists have bagged awards tonight so far:
The Awards throughout the years
Whilst the Brits organisers tackle some technical issues, we get to watch a performance from Adele who won big at last year's ceremony.
She sings I Drink Wine whilst elegantly perching on a piano. We miss you, Adele.
While we wait for Album of the Year to be announced (the last one), here's a look at some iconic moments from throughout the years.
Michael Jackson’s performance of Earth Song at the 1996 Brit Awards. Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker ran onstage in protest at Jackson “seeing himself as a Christ-like figure”.
Tony Blair, then leader of the Labour Party, gives David Bowie the Outstanding Contribution Award in 1996.
Take That winning their first Brit Awards as a four-piece in 1996. Robbie Williams left the group the year before, but It would only take a minute(well, 15 years) for Williams to perform with them again.
The Spice Girls in 1997. Later that year Geri Halliwell’s Union Jack dress sold for over £41,000.
Elton John gives Eminem the award for International Male Solo Artist in 2001. A few weeks earlier, the pair had performed the rapper’s hit Stan at the Grammys together.
Suspension and snogging with Sam Smith
Paul Glynn
Entertainment & arts reporter
We're almost at the end of the show, and Sam Smith and Kim Petras are performing.
There's a lot of PVC.
Last week the pair were accused of trying to raise the devil himself with their fiery performance at the Grammys
They're performing their erotically-charged track Unholy once again. They've got a team of dancers, draped across various onstage vehicles.
Two of them are snogging on a car bouncing on its own suspension springs, apparently charged on pure lust (rather than petrol).
Anyone who has seen the Palme d'Or-winning film Titane will get the idea.
New music from Leigh Anne-Pinnock this year?
Paul Glynn
Entertainment & arts reporter
... possibly.
Sorry to tease you all. But that's all the singer from previous Brit Award-winners Little Mix would tell host Mo Gilligan, when he found her in the audience enjoying a night out.
Producer of the year goes to David Guetta
Paul Glynn
Entertainment & arts reporter
No surprises there, as the superstar French DJ was announced as the winner of the award earlier this week.
"To have longevity in what we do is a miracle," said the 55-year-old. "Let's have a party!"
I'll drink to that.
Cat Burns brings the fire and confetti
Paul Glynn
Entertainment & arts reporter
Shania Twain was semingly so starstruck at meeting Harry Styles that she didn't know whether to leave the stage or not. Luckily Mo Gilligan, next to her, didn't mess about in teeing up a performance from Cat Burns.
She sang her song of the year nominee, the breakup anthem Go, complete with added harp.
(Not enough harps in modern pop music, it must be said.)
As her tender ballad changed speed at the end, moving into the more upbeat drum and bass tempo of its remix, the crowd inside the O2 Arena were treated to some pyrotechnics in the form of blazing confetti cannons.
Third time's a charm for Harry Styles
"Hello," he says. A good start.
"This album and this song was the most fun I've ever had making music.
"I want to thank Rob Stringer for lending me his house to record this in. I want to thank Tom and Tyler and all my friends who support me."
BreakingSong of the year goes to... Harry Styles - As It Was
And it goes a little something like this...
Song of the year nominees

Which of these tracks (below) have the Brits voting panel been singing in the shower most, of late?
Let's say Harry Styles' ubiquitous megahit, As It Was - shall we? Unless proved otherwise in a second...
