Greg Bruckner

Gregory "Greg" Bruckner was a minor character in Scream VI (2023 film). He worked with Jason Carvey to finish Richie Kirsch's movie.

Greg was the second character to fall victim to the sixth Ghostface killing spree.

He was portrayed by Thom Newell.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Greg was approximately born in between late-2002 or early mid-2003.

Greg grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with his friend Jason Carvey and the two idolized horror movies. Greg and Jason idolized Ghostface and had a shrine dedicated to him hidden in a wardrobe in their dorm room. After the 2022 Woodsboro Murders, he and Jason wanted to finish making the movie that Richie Kirsch was making. The two enrolled at Blackmore University to follow Samantha Carpenter, Tara Carpenter, Chad Meeks-Martin and Mindy Meeks-Martin, unaware that Wayne Bailey, the father of Richie, and his kids Quinn and Ethan, were already planning their own killing spree to get revenge against Sam for killing Richie.

The New York Ghostface Murders (2023)[]

On the night of October 29th, 2023, Wayne Bailey entered the dorm room of Greg and Jason and he killed Greg and then decapitated him. He then put the body in the refrigerator and left it there for Jason to find after he had Quinn call Jason and impersonate Greg using the Ghostface voice which she used to lure Jason to the fridge and find Greg's dismembered body. This acts as a distraction and leads to Jason ending up deceased and finishing off the opening kills.

Greg is one of a few characters to never be shown on screen before his death, with an exception of a brief photo cameo when Quinn calls Jason.

After this, it attracts the attention of FBI Agent Kirby Reed, who was tracking Greg and Jason's online activity and came to New York after hearing about their murders.

Greg is shown briefly again later on on the mind map presented by Kirby Reed showing a photograph of Greg before his death along with every other Ghostface in the series.

Trivia[]

  • Greg is the first antagonist who has no lines or screen time.
  • He is one of the few villains to be opening victims during a massacre.
  • He is the first character in the films to be dismembered in some fashion.
  • His death maybe an homage to Alice Hardy from Friday the 13th Part 2 as her head is found in the fridge.
    • Also "Fat" Lou Goddard from Jason X is dismembered off-screen by Jason Voorhees.
      • Ironically, Greg's best friend is named Jason.
  • Him and Jason are the first film characters from Alanta, Georgia.
    • The main characters from the 3rd season of the TV show predate them.
      • Greg and Jason are around the same age as them too.
