"UFO are without a doubt, the most underrated hard rock band of all-time. Their Michael Schenker era offered 5 classic hard rock studio efforts, Phenomenon, Force It, No Heavy Petting, Obsession, Lights Out and the absolute monster Strangers in the Night live release. Strangers in the Night is what the band did best, deliver from the stage. The classic line-up of Phil Mogg, Michael Schenker, Pete Way, Andy Parker and the addition of Paul Raymond, take this release to a different level that they simply could not capture in the studio. Many consider this to be one of the best live albums of all-time in a highly competitive era where live releases were all the rage.
It's unfortunate that they never received the recognition they deserved, particularly in the North American market, and by the early 80's, their albums slowly started to make their way to the bargain bins here. I have scratched my head for over 4 decades, and multiple line-up changes, how these guys never achieved what they deserved here. They should have been spoken in the same breath as Black Sabbath and Deep Purple instead of the "cult" following they have. I consider UFO to be one of the best UK hard rock bands ever."
