'Red Sparrow' Director Says Jennifer Lawrence Spy Thriller Has Hard "R" Rating
things did get pretty kinky naked in the book. i find it unlikely that is why the movie is rated r.
Jennifer Lawrence.
Yeah, not gonna be any nudity.
Oooh lala
I was expecting this
Cue the Jennifer Lawrence hate.
I was hoping Reddit would be over that by now. She's probably done with X-Men so Reddit can stop hating her now right?
P.S. I thought she was perfect as Mystique in First Class and DoFP.
She immediately lost value to Reddit when they got to see her naked.
You're partially right, but I think it's far too suspicious that right after she condemned people who looked at her naked pics is when Reddit turned.
It goes hand in hand, really. It's bad enough if reddit sees you naked, worse if you make them feel guilty about it.
God forbid a woman asking people to respect her privacy. How dare she?
Well I felt guilty about it after I had done it. Even if she didn't tell me.
It seems like after that incident she went from cute, dorky, girl next door to something less attractive (while physically still being a bomb)
The same thing happened to Kayley Cuoco but she reacted differently and as a result everyone quickly forgot about her.
I thought Reddit turned when she put down a guy reading a question of his phone to her?
Do we seriously have to have this exact same comment chain every time Jennifer Lawrence is mentioned in the title? Good god.
Well once the laughably transparent hatred isn't in every thread devoted to her probably.
Ooooor it was because after Days of Future Past she became the main character of Apocalypse for no reason and delivered a lack luster performance. Mystique is a supporting character and shouldn't be much more. That's the reason X-Men fans don't like her. Not because we got to see her naked.
Oh wait no...I forgot...we're all sexist assholes...right? And we also hated Ghostbusters cause women, right? Right...
She did not demand a bigger role, Fox pushed because she became a major star. And there was major hate for Ghostbusters from the announcement went on, its not like people were super exited for a new film and then hated it after seeing it.
A semi disappointing movie where she wasn't even the worst part of it doesn't really add up to the amount of hatred people have for her.
Apocalypse was garbage though
It wasn't just DOFP and her lackluster performance. It was also her hanging out with Amy Schumer. She also complained about not getting equal pay on American Hustle and Jeremy Renner and Christian Bale paid more. Guess what Jeremy Renner and Christian Bale were main characters. Jennifer Lawrence only had a few scenes. Amy Adams should complain because she was a main character and got less than the men. Jennifer Lawrence had a much smaller role and was only needed for two weeks. Her complaint set back equal pay in Hollywood, not help it.
People hated her before that movie came out. WELL before that movie came out.
That said, I agree she was one of the worst parts of that movie and it felt like she wasn't even trying. Plus, why is Mystique leading the X-Men? Fuck you, Fox.
"M'lady is an asshole loving slut"
To be fair that was also right around the time she stopped being good in movies.
Oo just in time.
And with a completely relevant username.
How is that hate? It's a standard comment you see on this subreddit all the time. In no way was that hateful.
"She doesn't make good movies anymore" GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT HATEFUL LANGUAGE NECKBEARD
People will freely accuse directors and producers of being pedophile and no one blinks an but say you don't think jennifer lawrence is all that then the pitchforks come out.
She was ok in DoFP and cringeworthy in First Class and Apocalypse
Very much disagree except for on Apocalypse. They screwed up her entire arc. They might as well have left her out of the movie. She sucked in it.
It seemed like she didn't even want to be there and was phoning it in.
I think some people hate it because she feels like an act herself
oh look how relatable I am. Im just you
It never seemed like an act. She was just asked about liking regular things and not being stuck up by every single interviewer. It's funny to joke about and make fun of, but to legitimately HATE her for it (which plenty of people on here do) is pathetic.

And that was all slander too. All the other journalists said he was just taking pictures of her instead of asking his question.

Here is more about that incident.
Really? Who hates J-Law? I love her.

They sound gay to me.
?
I'm with you I had to read a bit but it looks like X-men rage over her character getting to big a role for no reason other then she was her. She "condemed" reddit for viewing her nudes. and shes friends with Amy Schumer. I guess i can see the anger bout messing with X-men cannon and playing off her popularity or ticket sales but thatis not her fault... right?
Ehh Reddit hates her for shaming some of them for looking at her leaked nudes.
I genuinely find to her to be a pretty mediocre actress. No problem with her as a person though. Also every time a Hunger Game movie came out I had ten people a day telling me how much I looked like her so that's where most of my dislike comes from
Humblebrag.
Problem is, I don't think she's that pretty, not unattracrive just, ehhh. I totally see how that came off as me bragging though
Not a brag, a humblebrag! 2 very different things.
No worries though, I totally agree with your sentiment.
sendnudes
Who is this reddit you speak of? Where exactly on this site are people hating her for "shaming them"? All I see are discussion on this sub where people think she's overrated, over-saturated or contributed to franchises going in the wrong direction (x-men).

Reddit is the website you've been a part of for 6 years. Measuring the collective opinion is usually phrased as "Reddit thinks/hates/likes"
I'm not pulling examples to prove anything to you, but being the base mod of this sub means, obviously, I'm here a lot and I'm a good metric for its collective opinion on subjects. The crazy exuberance for Jennifer Lawrence definitely waned soon after the leaked nudes. The atmosphere of discussion changed from mostly "goddamn she's so awesome and relate-able" to resentment and comments like yours about how she's so totally overrated. Took the spectators by shock, really, those of us who weren't really on the Lawrence hype train, to see a crowd shift like that.
Some claim that's just when she stopped making good movies. Coincidentally timed to August 2014, when her nudes leaked.
You're lumping me in with the wrong crowd, I never said she's overrated; I was saying those are the type of comments I've seen about her. I wouldn't consider myself on either side of the debate, I just take issue with the fact that people are constantly trying to make up reasons for why reddit apparently is such a horrible place.
And given that the only "proof" I've ever seen from people claiming reddit totally hates her because of misogyny or leaked pics or whatever is that "the timeline fits", forgive me if I'm going to take that with a grain of salt. It's a poor attempt at over-simplifying the situation. Again, never seen any evidence of this, just people talking in vague generalities about "the crowds" and how the "overall sentiments" changed or something. Nothing substantial, just agenda-pushing speculation.
I liked seeing her bottomhole.
Although I didn't look at the pictures, I lost some respect for her not because of her nudes (who gives a fuck, honestly) but because she said that people who viewed them show be charged with some kind of sexual assault. That's pretty far out there.
Still like her and watch movies she is in. But I won't sit there and think she isn't wrong on some things.
She didn't say you should be charged with sexual assault. She just correctly identified that the leaking of nude photos without the person's consent is a form of sex crime and you should be ashamed to perpetuate it by looking at these stolen photos. I thought her response was remarkably civil considering what she had to go through.
She correctly identified that the leaking of nude photos without a person's consent is a form of sex crime.
I feel like that could lead to a lot of slippery slopes though. We already see laws the are applied at best inconsistently and at worst completely missing the point of the law. We have teens sexting each other and getting charged with distributing and possession child pornography. The laws need to catch up to the tech and current social climate first (in my opinion).
I'm sorry that what happened, happened to her. And the person who did that to her should be charged to the fullest extent of the law. But I don't think what happened is correct to be defined as a sex crime.

I dont get it either
You see this comment on every Jlaw thread even when no one says anything about her but this is the internet and the reddit nerds don't like people anything about her that doesn't sound like a superlative. Say something bad about Kristen Stewart and the same people would be hammering her.
I guess with her going out with Chris Martin and Darren Aronofsky reddit have hope that one day they'll meet their cool girl and live happily ever after.
lol, yeah - you were really spot on with that comment! Look at all this hate!
It's like people are competing to be the one who gets to "call out" the circlejerk; even when there isn't a circlejerk to be found. All that counts is you get to feel superior, right? Even if the people you're attempting to insult doesn't even exist.
You're actually probably right here.
Haha, so now you go on to insult me for pointing out your hypocrisy? That's pretty shitty, man.
I didn't even mention Lawrence in my post, I guess all it takes is to talk back, huh? I'm a bad person now because I don't agree with your unsubstantiated and provably false claims?
Wasn't rocketing12 agreeing with you?
They are notice the downvoted comments
I don't care what anyone else says but I'm looking forward to this film.
I hope she pulls of the Russian accent well. That's a hard accent to pull off, especially from an American.
She won't
edit: I'm not even hating on her, I've just never heard an American "pull off" a decent Russian accent, unless they have Eastern European roots.
every time a movie gets an R rating its gonna be news worthy?
I still like her.
Ayy Francis Lawrence is directing this! Guy did Constantine, I am Legend, and the last three Hunger Games movies.
I know those aren't the most well-received movies in the world (haven't seen the Mockingjay movies -- wasn't a fan of that franchise to begin with), but I think he's got a great eye that shows in a lot of his work. Can't wait to see him return to an R-rated film.
I love Jennifer Lawrence. Very attractive and a great actress. I can't wait for this film.
When it said hard r I thought of something else.
What did you think of?
Hopefully that R is for violence not boobs or swears.
[removed]
It's not that I don't want boobs or swears, just that I do want a violent action heroine.
Boobs though do tend to eclipse anything else that might be in a high profile movie. People focus on the boobs and little else. "Oh that movie? The boobs movie? You know I heard that the boobs. And the boobs are in it for 4.7 seconds so whats even the point of watching it?" and such.
Game of Thrones is a perfect example, yeah there's plenty of nudity but you mention it to people that don't watch it and it's always "oh that's that show where they all have sex and get naked all the time".
Good point. Agreed, friendo.
They should pull an Eastern Promises and have both at the same time.
Look into Atomic Blonde if you're looking for a violent heroine. Looks really good too!
You can bet this movie is on my radar!
Well people are ignorant, what can you do
Found the American
Guess again.
Nice
I expect a close up of her vagina
Cant wait to see this either...
Jennifer Lawrence
Hard "R" Rating
Spy Thriller
I'm bored already. Atomic Blonde is already the better movie.
She sucks
i hope she takes a poop in the moive
Whut
WOW, I'm excited now! Just kidding, sorry but I can't stand that Jlaw girl
Why not?
J Law went from being just a normal girl from the Midwest to an elitist cunt in a nanosecond. Fuck her.
Can't have girls getting uppity now can we?
Hopefully she has a sex scene with Matthias Schoenaerts
Soooooo jlaw boobies?
Rated R....hmmm JLaw boobies!
I heard that she blows a guy while doing the Macarena in this movie.
