The Blue Frog Guomao has one of the best views of the CCTV building. The burgers and sandwiches are good, other options in the menu are just ok. On weekends, at ordering a main course, they offer complimentary soft drinks or coffee.

The view here is great and so are the drinks at happy hour, but the service is terrible and the food is mediocre at best. Very few vegetarian options.

We took roasted lamb with potatoes and seafood pasta. It was ok, very average. For drinks we took Margarita and Cosmopolitan. Drinks were disgusting. No flavor, no taste of alcohol, very watery. Quality of food and drinks should be improved immediately, otherwise close it up! Service was good!

Best view of all the restaurants in the new East facing Blue Frog. So for a casual meeting with friends for a beer and a snack. It's OK. But beyound that it's a waste if good space.

Blue Frog cocktails are a nightmare of gaudy colors and unholy mixtures. Amateurs making drinks at major bar prices. Save your money and drink beer. Why beer? Because the wine list is a train wreck as well, unless you like the lowest denomination in house wines.

And let's not worry too much about the food. This is a grown ups version of McDonald's, the burgers are lame and over fluffed with crappy extra fillings. Do your heart and your tastebuds a big favour and miss the burgers here.

So why come. The view! The beers! Some beer snacks. That's all A OK. The rest. Forget it.

Top marks for the view. Best angle on the CCTV building going. But you can get the view for free off the public deck next to the restaurant. But Blue Frog Guomao suffers the same problems as Sanlitun Branch. Couldn't care less service staff (they couldn't care less as the place is packed with Chinese couples who think this is a great spot). Well view wise it is great. But food is very average and the service is so frustratingly bad and slow. I just can't bring myself to go back.

Top tip. Take lift to Level 6. Enjoy the view for a bit on the huge public deck, then go eat somewhere else ( or at least somewhere that treats you like customer).
