Mabel Caen was born about 1145, in Gloucestershire, England, United Kingdom as the daughter of William fitz Robert de Caen. She married Lord Gruffudd ab Ifor Bach of Senghenydd in 1170. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 8 daughters. She died on 23 November 1183, in her hometown, at the age of 39.
