AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Thanks to snow and absolutely frigid temperatures continuing to hit Northeast Ohio this week, more than 400 schools and districts announced plans to close Wednesday.
Cleveland Metropolitan School District announced just before 10 p.m. Tuesday night that all schools in the district would be closed on Wednesday. Central offices will stay open.
Akron Public Schools called the snow day just after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Students and parents alike were asked to continue checking the district’s websites for continued updates.
Other larger city public school districts calling it due to snow or dangerous temperatures include: Brooklyn City Schools, Massillon City Schools, Canton Local Schools, Parma City School District, Avon Lake City Schools, Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District and Barberton City Schools. Many private schools also said they were closing Wednesday.
