My freshman year has been alright. All of the teachers I have are very nice. However, a few teachers don't always explain the subject or organize themselves well. Our school has many clubs and after-school activities which is great! I've never attended the after-school programs but the clubs I joined are fun! They boost my community service hours and I like participating in their events during lunch. My school also offers opportunities like dual enrollment and numerous APs and announces programs and scholarships. My school counselor has helped me navigate these great opportunities I'm taking and will be taking next year. Thankfully she's been really patient and overall amazing!
The staff is amazing. As a student with Autism spectrum disorder they provided me with a lot of support over the years.
I have enjoyed my academic and sports experience at Uni. I like all of my teachers and they appear to be concerned about my future. This concern encourages me to strive for a higher education.
University High School has excellent teachers that enjoy what they teach and are knowledgeable. The college counselors on campus are compassionate and sincerely want every student to reach higher education. There are a wide range of course electives such as ceramics, music, photography, graphic design and many more that are taught by talented teachers that make the class enjoyable. There is a lot of school spirit, football Fridays are often packed with the cheer squad, drill team, and drum line present. There are more school police than before which is good to ensure safety. The school itself is very nice and the area is by the beach. Overall a good school that helped me stay on track academically to ensure I got into college.
Uni has been a good experience. I love the diversity. They offer a lot of resources. They can do better with more activities for the graduating class. Other than that Uni fit perfect for me.
I am only a freshman and in the first semester right now, so my perspective on this school is likely to change. The teachers aren't rude, but I tend to have a lot of homework. My first week I already had a project due the next week (Ms. Juarez's US history class) and a lot of homework. It's probably a typical thing for a high school, but I had expected to be eased into it. The school's layout is a workout too, with hills and stairs to walk up and down. I haven't eaten the cafeteria food so I wouldn't know how to rate it. The students are alright. It also seems like there isn't a lot of support for the lgbtq+, but there is a club for that. In addition, I would like to see more clubs that could look good on a resume.
The campus of University High School is very beautiful and big compared to other schools. Teachers are friendly and very helpful when it comes to work. Students at this school can be somewhat friendly. The population of students is very diverse and welcoming to any person. Overall, my experience at this school has been great. I have met new people and made great relationships. I feel that my academic abilities have also been pushed at this school making me into a better student.
I would say that my high school has to be both amazing in great in different ways. for one, it's really big and is on a hill so there are lots of stairs to go through and it's all separated so that makes it harder for people like me who are not fit at all. but the best part of being at the school is the people and the culture. For one, it's a very chill school, and the teachers are pretty understanding. It's not hard to connect with people at that school since most teachers there teach the importance of working in a team. The school is also very supportive of the LGBTQ+ kids that go to the school including myself so that is awesome. The classes can get challenging, but that's in every school the teachers will help you out, and shout out to my teacher Mr. Paulson for being the coolest teacher there. Moral is in my experience, the good outweighs the bad by a load.
At university high school I have experienced both pros and cons. I transferred to University high school from Palisades high school. Most of my experiences with staff have been negative, however some of them are really dedicated to their jobs. I was in Journalism last year, and they had continued to censor our articles in order to save their school image, it was incredibly frustrating. The journalism teacher had constantly been racist and prejudice towards one of my friends, and when we had reported her, nothing had changed. This school has room for incredible improvement, but so do most schools. I am lucky to have found such amazing friends, but I feel that most staff members don’t care for the future of their students.
The teachers at university high school charter are really good teachers. They always have patience for their students and they always make sure ur understanding something. The principal is the best principal she’s always handling everything so professionally and all. University high school charter has a really nice campus and it’s super big. The school has a really nice vibe. The school has tought me how to be friendly, how to respect people the right way, how to talk to someone if I need help, how to help someone if they need my help. Uni is a nice school and it has such nice teachers. Overall my experience at university high school charter are mostly good memories.
As a recent alumni of University High School, I can't speak more highly of the school. With its focus on academic rigor, exceptional teachers, and countless opportunities for personal growth, University High School is a unique and unforgettable experience. The school is a place that truly cares about the overall well-being of students. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging and fulfilling academic environment.
University High school Charter is a well rounded school for high school students. In my personal experience the teachers are very helpful and resourceful. As the first person of my family to want to attend college and working to be able achieve that goal, the most helpful class I have taken and which has been provided by the school is AVID. AVID standing for "Advancement Via Individual Determination". AVID has really helped me learn the process for college, further develop skills that are important in academics and life like collaboration, GRIT and so much more. This class also provides other resources like mentors and the class overall is one of the reasons high school is enjoyable. I don't have any bad experiences with UNI, but one change I would like to see is more events that include the community. For example; having movie nights in the field, a little fair; small fun events like these can both help raise many for the school and allow students and families to have fun.
the opportunities are amazing at the school with great partnership with UCLA and is so close to Westwood Village. Great Lunch pep rallies. The only thing is that it needs to be a little bit better in sports
University High School has prepared me for college through many rigorous courses, engaging classes, and the opportunity for one-on-one guidance with counselors and college advisors. I would say that my school is solid in the department of academics. In terms of student life and culture, I find that the student body has recently shown increasing misbehavior and disobedience due to the pandemic stunting emotional and behavioral growth. Overall, the staff and teachers at this school make the experience worth it-- I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at University High School, albeit short.
I really like Uni, it's students can be a lot to handle but the education is literally top tier. The teachers are all so energetic, active and supportive you might not like some's grading systems but the teachers are definitely doing their jobs and more. There are a lot of opportunities to grow and succeed and the counselors are all excellent. Genuinely speaking if you're the type of kid that won't get influenced by the high school kids that tend to act out a lot it's a great school. Most of the kids mind their own business. The extracurriculars offered are pretty active and you can start your own thing if you can't find anything right for you. We have a College Center and regular updates from the counselors for different contests, scholarships, volunteering opportunities, etc...
but its and okay school. I like the academics and the administration involvement . The students are rowdy but in the end its cool i like it and i would recommend it there is a friend there for everyone.

I like my school's atmosphere and environment. I feel safe in the neighborhood surrounding the school. What I would like to see changed is the school's start time because starting from the beginning of this school year, school starts later and ends later. Besides that inconvenience, overall my school is great.
I liked the fact that the counselors and teachers cared well about the students academics. Although it isn’t a artsy nor activities based school, the academic focus and party scene isn’t too far off and is still enjoyable, the campus is well taken care off and the money is spent on extracurriculars that students can enjoy but still used towards academics and classrooms. The teachers are amazing and push for you to become a better person, overall I wish they found more time to push out fun activities and stress reliving things for students to partake in.
