Mary McNamara Los Angeles Times Surely there's a better way to mark a brave if doomed rebellion than by squashing it one more time. Apr 27, 2016 Full Review John Doyle Globe and Mail It's an intriguing version of history and utterly noble in its intent. Apr 26, 2016 Full Review Mike Hale New York Times In the three-night mini-series Rebellion, serious historical drama goes up against tedious soap opera, and the battle ends in more or less of a stalemate. Peggy F Good movie to explain the animosity between the Brits and the Irish back then and how the revolution seriously started for Ireland to gain their independence. It is worthwhile to watch but not enjoyable to see. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/26/23 Full Review Claudiu I I don't know if it is historical accurate, but I liked how the story goes. Characters are alive, with bad and good, understandable in such circumstances. The uprising seemed rushed and insufficiently prepared and it leaves spectator wondering if use of violence was justified by freedom desire. Good image and good acting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Catherine C I just finished watching the first season and will need to take a break before starting the second. I am very aware of the history of this period, due to my research into my Irish heritage and I must say, knowing the facts and seeing them portrayed in this series is very different. The acting is amazing, but for me, the intensity of emotions raised for me, surprised me. There were so many moments when It was quite overwhelming and when a movie or TV show can do that with history - that is a work of art. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/30/22 Full Review Mr Dapper s Fantastic show depicting the plight of the oppressed Irish and the torture and murder of Good people in the name of British occupation of foreign lands. Another stain of British control across the world. Long live untied Ireland 🇮🇪 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/27/22 Full Review Audience Member I love shows based on historical events, so this was a must see for me.
