Requests for assessment[edit]

Editors can self-assess articles against the five B-class criteria(FAQ) up to and including C-Class. If you have made significant improvements to an article against one or more of B-class criteria and would like an outside opinion on a new rating for it, please feel free to list it below, specifying which criteria you have worked on. If you feel unable to assess against one or more of the B-class criteria, please say so when posting. Requests for formal A-Class review should be made at the review department. Please consider entering articles you have improved in the military history article writing contest.

Experienced assessors are encouraged to take a look at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Military history/Coordinators#AutoCheck report for November and check a few of ≈ B-Class assessments. Feel free to downgrade them if you consider they don't meet one or more the criteria. Please also delete any that you have checked. See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Spaceflight/Assessment, whose articles often overlap with military history topics.

  • Place new request for assessment of Soviet/Russian body armor: 6B1, 6B2, 6B3, 6B23, 6B45 when issues that need to be addressed, posted November 11, 2023 are addressed. Removed prior notes, sufficient time to be seen, will remove this summary note in a few days. Donner60 (talk) 04:36, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • I reviewed 6B2 and 6B23. Both are C class and both are missing at least one citation. See the talk pages for details Djmaschek (talk) 21:20, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • 6B3 is B class. 6B1 and 6B45 are C class due to missing citations. Djmaschek (talk) 21:41, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I have also moved all these to titles like "XXX ballistic vest" as even M16 has rifle after it in the title. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 03:04, 9 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hello, @Peacemaker67:, I am the writer of theese articles and I disagree with this decision as of now. 6B is a GRAU index, and there are several pages of GRAU equipment which do not have disambiguation in title. (Like Artillery). I would ask you to wait with this change until at least I finish creating couple other articles on Russian vests, to complete the Lineup. Thank you. G’day F.Alexsandr. Natural disambiguation is needed for all these articles. You cannot have an article that is just a model number or whatever a GRAU index is. For example, we have M16 rifle, M2 light tank, and M249 light machine gun. You might as well naturally disambiguate them with what they are as you create them. Hello! I have fixed [[6B1]], [[6B2]], and [[6B45]] problems with citations! F.Alexsandr (talk) 14:01, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • Central Bureau - Allied signals intelligence unit in south-west Pacific during WW2. Extensive rewrite. Looking for an outside opinion to see if references and coverage are ok. Lawrence, M.J. (talk) 05:42, 8 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Work is needed on citations. Many need to be added. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/B-Class FAQ: "Policy is to cite anything that is likely to be challenged but, again, this is B-Class not a FAC so some latitude is permitted. As a rule of thumb, the absolute minimum is that all paragraphs should at least end with a citation and all direct quotes should be attributed to a source." Also see: Wikipedia:Bare URLs for formatting of URL citations. If a few citations can be had from other sources, presumably the further reading, that would be an improvement though not absolutely required. No copyvios detected. Coverage appears to be good.
