“In Between” is an unreleased song by Gracie Abrams, written about four years before the release of “Mean It”, her debut single. This song features a more upbeat production and a different vocal style than Gracie’s official releases.

Gracie performed this song live for the first time in London for the Good Riddance Tour on October 3, 2023, nearly eight years after the song was written.

On January 16, 2024 during her second Brisbane, AU show on the Good Riddance Tour, after fans asked for her to play the unreleased song, she said her mom has asked her to release it, and she went on to say she might release it one day. Additionally, at her first Sydney, AU show, two days later, she told the story behind this song.

So I wrote this song about a friend of mine who had like the biggest crush ever on this boy and she was like the biggest Taylor Swift fan ever, so this song is not about me. But she was the biggest Taylor Swift fan and so I ended up posting it on SoundCloud. It was very small, but you may have picked up on the like Holy Ground and Sparks Fly, that moment. ‘Cause I was like “how do I make this personal for her where she’ll feel like it’s Taylor-coded as well?”

Gracie also said at an Aussie show that in the days following the 2024 Grammys, she was going to finish her next album and record “In Between”.
