About
Embark on an immersive, multi-sensory journey through the varied ecosystems of the Americas at the Montreal Biodome. Here, you can see tropical creatures in a rainforest, marvel at underwater creatures and marine life, spot a lynx or beaver in a Laurentian maple forest, and say hello to adorable penguins in the cool arctic.
You can get a single ticket to the Biodome, or a multi-attraction Passport which gives you access to other Space for Life museums including the Jardin Botanique, Planetarium, and Insectarium. Tickets can sell out though, so book them early to avoid the lines and secure your slot. – Tripadvisor

Neighbourhood: Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.

We went into the wrong entrance as we approached the Biodome which led us to their cafe area which was an an all vegetarian restaurant. This gave me a good feeling about the Biodome and it’s treatment of the animals as well as their care for the planet from the get go! Food was good by the way. Definitely recommend.
The Biodome had timed entry tickets so we explored the attached planetarium as we were waiting to go in. There were 4 areas within the Biodome each with their own climate and animals typical to the respective North American region. This was an enjoyable experience for our family. The only thing I would have changed would be to have a little more information posted on each of the animals/regions for a better understanding. There was a staff member available in one of the areas who spent some time with us answering our questions which was great!
The Biodome was wonderful and a must see attraction when in Montreal!

Great visit for families. You can see puffins, penguins, monkeys, and much more for reasonable admissions prices. Easy to access by taking the metro on the green line, and great if you also want to visit the botanic gardens nearby.

Loved the biodiversity of this place. It wasn’t crowded and we took out time to try to see everything, we will definitely go there again.
If I had anything to say that wasn’t positive, the restaurant is doing the “healthy” thing, and there wasn’t a single item that appealed to my family.

Excellent way to showcase the different ecosystems and biodiversity around the world. Who would think of seeing the amazon during Montreal's winter?

Interesting exhibits and a way to spend an hour or two. More signs describing the exhibits (or staff speaking about/pointing out features) would make it more valuable.

My family with two older teens were in Montreal for a January weekend (only our Second time in Canada) and looking for something to indoors. Read some of the reviews, but decided to try anyway. This review will confirm a few things written by my fellow reviewers. Let me save you some time an money. If youve ever been to a zoo or aquarium in the US this will be a let down. (Not saying US is better, I've just never been to any in CA.) Parking is confusing, poorly marked and extremely overpriced at $25? There are 4 sections to the building. It took us 90 minutes to get through it all and we were taking our time. Except for the green running man, there are ZERO signs as to what you are looking at, what to look for, their habitat, country of origin, nothing! Although some of the exibits were nice to see such as the penguins, lynx, jellyfish, tamarin monkeys (there may have been others, but of course I could have missed it because there are no signs) the rest could use somewhat of an animal upgrade. Racoons? Really? If you are just going with your young family and you want to show your kids what a real penguin or starfish look like, this is a great choice. The place is very clean. The gift shop is nice. There is a cafe with a lot of seating, but we did not try it. Just have someone drop you off instead of parking and maybe there are discounts available. Overall for the 4 of us with parking it was $98 (2×$22.50, 1×$16.50, 1x$11.50, $25 parking) not including a couple of items we bought in the gift shop. A rather expensive 90 minutes.

This Biodome is very dated and some of the animals are in cramped conditions. There are very few information boards to tell you what animals you are looking at. Given that this is located at the Olympic Park I expected it to be more welcoming and cleaner. We visited on New Year's Day, so the place was busy. But despite the crowds, the cafe was closed with no food outlets close by! This place has great potential and was a pleasant way to spend an hour and a half out of the rain.

My older teens liked it overall but got bored after a little while so I think it’s better for younger kids. The site says to plan about 90 minutes but we saw everything in 45 minutes. Price is a bit steep for that. Also I did download the app but it wasn’t very user friendly so I gave up on it pretty quickly.

It was kind of amazing being able to walk through a tropical rainforest on a cold, wet day in early December, but that is what we were able to do at the Biodome, as it is one of the five ecosystems that you can see there. The ecosystems include both native plants and animals. The other four are: the Gulf of St. Lawrence; the Laurentians; the Labrador coast; and subantarctic Islands.

Bonjour / Hi ! Est-ce possible d’éviter la section des reptiles lors de notre visite ? Is it possible to avoid the reptile section when visiting ?

Bonne visite

I am visiting with 3 young children—should we plan on seeing both the Biodôme AND the planetarium? Are they the same building? Is there food on site?
