GANGS OF NEW YORK - Movie Guide Q&A, Storyboard & Writing Frames
- Word Document File
Description
These movie questions are super helpful to a secondary educator, substitute teacher, or homeschool student.
All Questions are time-stamped at one question per minute and formatted on google docs which means you can cut out as many questions as you want, only you know your class better than anyone. All movie questions include an accurate answer sheet from the movie for easy grading and reference. If your class gets lost you can easily get them or yourself back on track through the answer sheet and check for understanding with your students during the movie. I have found these questions to work well especially if you want to keep kids on task during a movie. With these movie questions, an educator can refer back to the movie to spark a quick discussion and begin questioning in any format he/she pleases.
A Storyboard assignment of the movie is also included so students can visually reprocess the movie scene by scene to quickly regain perspective of what the objective of the lesson is. Storyboards are a fun way for students to summarize the key parts or "scenes" of a story or book. Students both illustrate and describe the scenes in their own words with help from the sentence frames.
And finally, if students are having extreme difficulty writing about the movie this resource also includes writing frames for students who will struggle with comparing and contrasting, summarizing, sharing opinions and arguments, or describing the movie. They are an effective way to get students to write about the movie and are especially useful with the need to satisfy Common Core Standard requirements. This activity is aligned with the Common Core.
