High dividend income in Q1
The current account surplus versus abroad ended at 249 billion NOK in 2024. NOK 56 billion weaker than Q1 in 2023. The trade balance showed a surplus of NOK 163 billion. Norway's net foreign assets amounted to NOK 17 382 billion at the end of Q1 2024.
Salmon price in the period of May 27th – June 2nd
In the period of May 27th – June 2nd the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 104.90 per kilo, down by 11.2 per cent compared to the previous seven-day period.
Norway’s 2024 national population projections
The 2024 national population projections show a declining rate of population growth, strong population ageing, and a larger, more established, and older immigrant population. According to the main alternative, the Norwegian population will increase from around 5.55 million today to 6 million in 2040 and above 6.2 million in 2100.
Municipal population projections 2024
The backdrop for this year’s population projections for Norwegian municipalities is substantial immigration, particularly from Ukraine. In the main scenario, the projections show especially strong population growth in the short term, but also growth in the longer term.
