Unlike the print in the Lampoon, which often faded or yellowed with age, this book is printed on high-quality paper that showcases Taylor's skill and exacting drawing/inking.
Worth the buy for those folks that remember what National Lampoon was like back in the day.
Bravo to Fantagraphics for the service they have done for lovers of great cartooning everywhere.
The National Lampoon recognized the genius of B.K. Taylor and for years we all got to revel in the hilarious and often sadistic wit of B.K.’s Appletons and Timberland Tales. This compilation of a slightly twisted look at life reminds me of the golden years when humor was celebrated and not dissected. I leave this book on my coffee table for anyone who needs a jolt of crazy and a glimpse of genius.
