The Blues Project was a short-lived band from Greenwich Village in New York City that was formed in 1965 and split up in 1967. They are most remembered as one of the earliest practitioners of psychedelic rock, and one of the world's first jam bands, along with the Grateful Dead. This live performance by The Blues Project is from the Matrix in San Francisco in September 1966. This recording includes 2 sets from a week-long string of concerts. These shows were recorded and played at a later date on KSAN-San Francisco during Bill Graham's 3 day stint at the station in 1972.
