WINONA, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Earl John Althouse, age 86 of Winona, Ohio, passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 4, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife, kids, and grandkids.

Earl was born on March 7, 1938, in Salem, Ohio. He has resided in Winona all of his life.

Earl graduated from Salem High School in 1956.

He was a member of Winona Friends Church. He touched many lives through his Christ centered faith and prayer. 

Earl was a co-owner of Althouse Bros Dairy Farm until 1988. He then worked for Sebring Schools for 30 years.

Earl married the love of his life on July 8, 1989 and they enjoyed 35 years of marriage together.

Earl has spent recent years watching his family grow as his children found spouses and had grandchildren. His stories will live in the memories of each life he touched and will be passed down for generations. 

He is preceded by his parents, Elmer (Nick) Althouse and Helen Stackhouse Althouse Gamble and his siblings, Glenn Althouse and Lois Althouse McCormick. 

He is survived by his wife, Robin Ward Althouse and his five children, Sam and Kim Courtney of Salem, Catherine and Craig Hartman of Salem, Lydia and Kyle Conklin of Lowellville, Nick and Liz Althouse of San Antonio and Becky and Chelsea Althouse-McMullen of Painesville. Earl was blessed with seven grandchildren, Kassidy, Scarlett, Iris, Layla, Colt, Nora and Adeline. He is also survived by his siblings, Homer and Marilyn Althouse and Ruth Harsh. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held by the family at a later date.
