Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter It's hard not to get caught up in Rose's fate, especially with Shepherd infusing her portrayal of the spunky character with subtle grace notes. Brolin is equally good, movingly conveying the loneliness and pathos underlying Max's good humor. Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Unfortunately, the romance zigzags in and out too much to effectively drive the narrative and inform the dying Rose's emotional arc in the way, by all rights, it should have. Jan 3, 2019 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz Clearly designed as a vehicle for the now 68-year-old former Moonlighting and The Last Picture Show star, Rose's mature drama can't overcome a pile-up of plot contrivances and cliched action. Fiona M A little gem of a movie. They could have done a little more with Rose's character but all in all a very enjoyable and slightly heartbreaking experience. James Brolin in a cowboy hat is always going to work. Still hot after all those years. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Audience Member I think this was the worst movie I ever saw and that is saying something Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member It wasn't a great movie; maybe, not even a good movie, but, I enjoyed it unlike any other movie for its honesty, authenticity, and sweetness. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Frances H So boring I just couldn't finish it! Pam Grier had the only interesting character, and she was only in it for a moment.Cybil Shepard had one facial expression and it was not a pleasant one. James Brolin was trying too hard to be folksy and failed! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/20 Full Review Audience Member it was one of the best movies of 2019 and was a very compeling and sad movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Very moving film! Really gets you thinking about what is important in life. Loved it! Wonderful actors! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
