No Plan B: A Jack Reacher Novel Kindle Edition

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Don’t miss the hit streaming series Reacher

No Plan B is not to be missed. A perfectly plotted, fast-paced thriller, with bigger twists than ever before. It’s no wonder Jack Reacher is everyone’s favorite rebel hero.”—Karin Slaughter

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR: Reader’s Digest

In Gerrardsville, Colorado, a woman dies under the wheels of a moving bus. The death is ruled a suicide. But Jack Reacher saw what really happened: A man in a gray hoodie and jeans, moving stealthily, pushed the victim to her demise—before swiftly grabbing the dead woman’s purse and strolling away.

When another homicide is ruled an accident, Reacher knows this is no coincidence. With a killer on the loose, Reacher has no time to waste to track down those responsible.

But Reacher is unaware that these crimes are part of something much larger and more far-reaching: an arsonist out for revenge, a foster kid on the run, a cabal of powerful people involved in a secret conspiracy with many moving parts. There is no room for error, but they make a grave one. They don’t consider Reacher a threat.
“There’s too much at stake to start running from shadows.” But Reacher isn’t a shadow. He is flesh and blood. And relentless when it comes to making things right.

For when the threat is Reacher, there is
No Plan B.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Praise for No Plan B

“The ‘Child’ brothers keep powering along, and their collaboration is bringing a new energy to the beloved Jack Reacher series (which is also flush with new fans in the wake of the hit adaptation).
No Plan B has all the staples we’ve come to appreciate: a smalltown, arrived to seemingly at random, but soon Reacher finds a conspiracy unfolding, as a series of ‘accidental’ deaths have something more sinister behind them. Reacher, naturally, will apply brutal reason (and other brutal forces) to find his way into the depths of this small town’s corrupt soul.”CrimeReads

No Plan B is one of the best Reacher books in years.”—TheRealBookSpy

I almost gave up on this one early on. It seemed too fragmented. But as usual it all ingenuously came together with an unexpected wrap up.

In his usual kick-ass way, Reacher takes the chances and figures it all out. The writing is solid, the twists unexpected and the resolution unpredictable.

The story had a couple of characters that were mentioned early in the book that were woven into the story much later in the book. It was a bit confusing early on and required a couple of "look backs" to remind me who they were. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the book.

Plot a little convoluted and harder to follow that normal. Too many characters split into different parts of the country. Can't help but wondering if two authors together was the reason. That happened with Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark

Non stop action as you expect. Written in a way for you to almost see the action as it unfolds. Can't always walk away until the chapter is done.

I didn't like the parts where the writer keeps jumping around from one person to the next; it took too long to put everything together. I did like the parts about the kid. Hannah was awesome. The prison break was good. The end was ok.

Reacher is never looking for trouble but finds plenty. He is smart and has a lot of knowledge the average person doesn't. For the longest time I could not figure where the kid fit in but then all came together. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves action and drama.

Since Lee Child has collaborated with his son to write, the Jack Reacher adventures are not as entertaining to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good reading but paperback with defective binding
Reviewed in France on April 20, 2024
Very good reading, like every single Jack Reacher novel.
The paperback I received has a defective binding, when I opened the book the 1st time, the pages separated from the binding, like they're wasn't enough glue.
If this happens to you, don't wait, you only have 30 days to get a refund or an exchange (I didn't open the book on reception, and now it's been 32 days - so too late!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collaboration
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 3, 2023
Great collaboration by the authors and it looks like Reacher will be in good hands with Andrew. Good storyline and twists. Not predictable although some events a bit too convenient. All told, very enjoyable and I'm looking forward to The Secret.
