Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield suiting up as their respective versions of the famous Marvel wall-crawler in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home was a crossover of epic proportions. While the third act saw them team up with Tom Holland to take on bad guys, their first scene was very low-key.

Speaking to ComicBook, Jacob Batalon, whose character Ned Leeds used a sling ring to open a portal for "Peter Parker," recalled the moment Maguire and Garfield stepped onto the No Way Home set. "I think everyone knew it was really special," the actor said. "It had never been done before. I feel like everyone understood the gravity of the moment, but we also kept it really light. At that point in filming, because we were working during the pandemic, we were just all grateful to be there."

While some behind-the-scenes photos of Maguire and Garfield made their way online before No Way Home was released, nothing from Batalon's scene was leaked before the film hit theaters. "Working on that scene specifically was such a delight because Andrew and Tobey are super great," the actor continued. "I remember thinking that it was probably one of those moments where people will probably be talking about it for a long time. It was really fun. I feel like that was probably the time where I kind of got to know them the most."

Btalon's MCU Future Remains Unknown

Batalon's future as Ned in the MCU is uncertain as it's unclear which characters might return alongside Holland. While he's not privy to Marvel Studios' plans, the actor says he's ready for anything. "I'm open to anything, and I think we all are open to anything," Batalon said. "Unless you're like a superhero, like big time, one of the main ones they're trying to make movies about, you don't really know what's going to happen. So, I would hopefully [return]. I'm down for anything. I would love to be a part of something special again. But also, at the same time, I understand it's a business."

Although Holland has expressed hesitance about reprising his role as Peter Parker, the actor is ready for Spider-Man 4. "The simple answer is that I'll always want to do Spider-Man films," he said. "I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. I'll always want to do more." However, Holland wants to ensure the fourth movie does its predecessors justice. "We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we've cracked it, we have a legacy to protect," he explained. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing."
