Rezensionen
- You might not know who Steve Young is by name, but you’ve probably heard Waylon’s version of Lonesome, Onry and Mean or the Eagles hit Seven Bridges Road. It might mean something to you to know James Burton appears on this, Young’s 1969 debut album, as do Gram Parsons and Gene Clark of the Byrds. It might even ring a bell if I tell you that Steve is featured in the documentary Heartworn Highways, alongside contemporaries like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, David Allan Coe, Gamble Rogers, Larry jon Wilson, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Charlie Daniels and others. This album has been out of press for far too long, and it’s as great as any country album from 1969.
The cover looks great and the record is perfectly flat and dead quiet. Another great release from Real Gone!

Klipsch R-101 SW - Utterly stupendous Lp, if you don't know this Lp and you know Nick Drake, think American Country Nick Drake, possibly because of the string arrangements, but also because of the similar reflective, slightly melancholic atmosphere that pervades. I'm 56 and overjoyed to have discovered him now, wish it could have been a while back... This particular press the grey 'rock salt' coloured Vinyl is noisy in places, but not overly so, certainly not to the detriment of the music in any way.
- I gave my first edition to my son, he completely appreciates its significance. I cannot wait to hear this!
- These days, I’m excited to find a new release that is perfectly flat and quiet as this one is. Sounds wonderful!
