After its cancellation in 2019, many thought The Hunt would never see the light of day. In February 2020, it was announced that it would be releasing in March of the same year. The Hunt has a pretty impressive cast, so it's no surprise that it eventually made its way back to the big screen. Odds are that audiences will recognize a good majority of the faces in this movie, as prominent actors of film and television lent their talents to Blumhouse's controversial film.
The Hunt, which is loosely based on the short story The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, follows twelve strangers who wake up in the middle of a field with no knowledge of how they got there or why they are there. They eventually learn they have been selected by a group of elites to take part in a twisted game called "the hunt." The hunted decide to ban together and fight back against their hunters. Needless to say, things get pretty violent.

Hilary Swank as Athena — Athena is the leader of this group. Hilary Swank is best known for her Oscar-winning turns in Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don't Cry.
Amy Madigan as Ma — Madigan plays Ma, who co-owns the shop with Pop that was heavily featured in The Hunt's trailer. Madigan is known for roles in Field of Dreams and Uncle Buck.
Reed Birney as Pop — Birney's Pop co-owns the aforementioned shop with Ma. Birney is known for roles in The Blacklist and House of Cards.
Glenn Howerton as Richard — Richard is another member of the hunters' group. Howertown is best-known for his role in the long-running series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Steve Coulter as The Doctor — Coulter, another House of Cards alum, plays The Doctor. He can also be seen in Watchmen and The Walking Dead.
Steve Mokate as Sgt. Dale — Sgt. Dale is a consultant that the hunters bring in for their game. Mokate is known for roles in American Crime and The Leftovers.
Vince Pisani as Peter — Peter is another member of the hunters. Pisani can be seen in Tag and Jumanji: The Next Level.
Teri Wyble as Liberty — Wyble plays Liberty, another member of the hunters. Wyble appeared in The Walking Dead and Terminator: Genisys.

Betty Gilpin as Crystal — Crystal eventually emerges as the leader of the hunted. Gilpin is the centerpiece of the film and is best known for playing Debbie (AKA Liberty Belle) on Netflix's GLOW.
Ike Barinholtz as Staten Island — Staten Island functions as a leader of one faction of the hunted early on in the movie. Barinholtz is known for roles in The Mindy Project and Neighbors.
Wayne Duvall as Don??? — Don??? functions as Crystal's right-hand man. Duvall is known for roles in O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Lincoln.
Ethan Suplee as (Shut the F**k Up) Gary — Gary eventually teams up with Crystal. Suplee can be seen in Remember the Titans and Mallrats.
Emma Roberts as Yoga Pants — Yoga Pants is another member of the hunted. She is played by Emma Roberts, who is known for her various roles in American Horror Story.
Christopher Berry as Target — Target is accurately named, as he is another target of the hunters. Berry has appeared in 12 Years a Slave and Django Unchained.
Sturgill Simpson as Vanilla Nice — Vanilla Nice is another member of the hunted. Simpson appeared in Queen & Slim.
The Hunt may have received largely negative reviews, but could fare well with audiences and piggyback off its surrounding hype.
