Are the Fortnite servers down?

The Fortnite servers are currently live as the transition to Chapter 5 Season 3 is now complete.

According to the Fortnite Status X (formerly Twitter) account, the servers are now back up and include Battle Royale patch notes for the new season. You can read about those in the official Fortnite blog.

Generally speaking, Fortnite servers only go down during maintenance periods between patch updates or when demand is increased to the point of overloading servers, such as the first day of Lego Fortnite going live. There have been exceptions where things have taken longer, though, like the prolonged downtime at the start of Chapter 5 Season 2 where the maintenance period was extended by eight hours.

As soon as the Fortnite servers are no longer down, you should be able to buy or earn the latest Fortnite skins. If you’re looking for something else to play in the meantime, we have a list of the best new PC games and all the upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond.
