With such forebears as Charlie Chaplin and Eugene O'Neill, it's no surprise Dolores Chaplin always wanted to act. "As a young girl, I was unaware of the spectrum of my grandfather's talent," she says. "I didn't grow up in his shadow. I discovered the man much later." At a film festival in India she was struck by his far-flung influence. "No one had seen the French movies I was in, but I was Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter! They had such love for me. That is always a surprise." Next up, the Paris-based actress will be working with her sister Carmen, who is directing her first feature-length film. "There are a lot of talented people in my family, I guess." Tout fait.
