Located on 15th Street in Allentown, the Allentown Branch of the Greater Valley YMCA is currently offering Child Care including two, three and five day options as well as our Warming Station for our unhoused Neighbors. For more information call 610-351-9622.

Early Learning Center

Our Early Learning Center (ELC) is geared to help children grow and develop in a safe, nurturing and creative environment. Our ELC features newly renovated classrooms that serve children ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten age. Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards guide our learning through use of the Creative Curriculum. The curriculum is supported by understanding children's learning style and interests and is designed to provide a myriad of activities to enhance cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

Our ELC is open Monday-Friday from hours of  6:30 A.M.-6:00 P.M. We offer a well-balanced menu, serving breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack daily.

Care offered

• Infants: 6 weeks - 12months
• Young Toddlers: 12 - 24 months
• Older Toddlers: 24 - 36 months
• Preschool: 3-4 years old 
• Pre-Kindergarten: 4-5 years old

We are very excited that our program to offer the free Pre-K Counts program. Pre-K Counts is a free program for families who meet the state's financial eligibility qualifications.

School-Age Care

We offer PA DHS licensed before and after school programs in the Allentown, East Penn and Parkland School Districts. Our programs reinforce positive values in a caring atmosphere, with activities intentionally designed to help kids make friends and grow stronger in mind, body and spirit. Our after school program aligns with PA Early Learning Standards and activities are centered around age-appropriate learning. We supplement what your child learns in school with:

• 30 minutes each day to work on their homework with trained YMCA staff
• Social time with peers to form long-lasting friendships that enhance their development, growth and self-confidence
• STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, arts, math)
• A variety of literacy activities
• HEPA activities (healthy eating, physical activities)

Allentown School District (located at the Allentown Branch) 
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 6pm
Serving: Jackson, Lehigh Parkway, Ramos and Union Terrace Elementary Schools
*Transportation is provided to and from the schools by the Allentown YMCA.
Care provided on most school closure days.

East Penn School District (located in the listed elementary schools)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am until the start of the school day and from the end of the school day until 6pm.
Serving: Macungie (*care provided at Shoemaker) and Shoemaker Elementary Schools
Care provided on most school closure days at the Allentown Branch.

Parkland School District (located in the listed elementary schools) 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am until the start of the school day and from the end of the school day until 6pm.
Serving: Cetronia, Fogelsville, Ironton, Jaindl, Kratzer, Parkway Manor and Veterans Memorial Elementary Schools
Care provided on most school closure days at the Allentown Branch.

Summer Camps

YMCA Summer Day Camp offers a safe atmosphere where youth may enjoy their summer break. To deliver on the Y's commitment to nurture the potential of every child, our program helps campers discover what they are passionate about and form healthy relationships.

All of our camps place special emphasis on youth choice, achievement and a sense of belonging. Our summer camp features swimming, field trips (including Greater Valley YMCA Field Day and Camp Kresge), and age appropriate weekly themed activities! Campers will be exposed to activities designed to teach independence and team building skills and support the four core values of the Y: Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Honesty.

Camp Keystone (Located at the Allentown Branch)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6: 30am - 6pm

Camp Macungie (Located at the Macungie Memorial Park)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 6pm
