A suicide death report due to traumatic stress currently surrounds Miley Cyrus as a result of the numerous criticisms she received from her raunchy performance at the 2013 VMAs. However, the reports appear to be another Internet death hoax that went viral on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

The Hoax Slayer report shared the fake death report on the 20-year-old "We Can't Stop" singer that circulated on Facebook. The message reads: "--BREAKING-NEWS- [R.I.P.] -MILEY CYRUS commits SUICIDE after traumatic stress -[Rest in Peace]-hollywooddailydose/exclusive (for 18 years and abo... MILEY recorded a suicide video message for her fans."

The Miley Cyrus suicide death hoax became a trending topic as well on Twitter with numerous fans tricked into believing the cruel report. Viewers and even celebrity guests slammed Miley Cyrus for her indecent on-stage performance with "Blurred Lines" singer Robin Thicke and it appears to be the cause of Miley's traumatic stress which urged her to allegedly commit suicide.

The fake death hoax link has been taken out from the Facebook page, but Hoax Slayer claims that scammers will still continue to use fake death reports about celebrities in order to deceive people into clicking Web site links. Internet users who come across with the bogus links are advised not to click it to avoid harmful viruses from damaging the computers or other devices.

Hoax Slayer further explained: "Scammers regular use fake news about celebrities to trick people into clicking malicious links. In 2012, a widespread scam campaign claimed that people who clicked a link could view a salacious video of Miley. However, the link actually enticed users into handing access to their Facebook accounts to criminals and participating in bogus online surveys. And, earlier in 2013, messages falsely claiming that actor Jackie Chan tried to trick users into installing rogue apps or malicious browser extensions."

Scammers design these links in conning users to install a rogue application, add a damaging Web browser extension or participate in a survey scam. The circulating suicide reports have been proven false with MStars News claiming that Miley Cyrus is alive, doing well and even proud of her VMAs performance becoming a controversial history at MTV.
