About David Hyde Pierce
The Powers That Be was a political comedy created by Norman Lear in the early 1990s. Pierce portrayed the role of Theodore, a congressman, in the show. This was Pierce’s first major break in the television industry. Despite receiving praise from reviewers, the show was only on the air for a short while before it was pulled.
Pierce was born in Saratoga Springs, which is located in the state of New York. Both of his parents worked in the field of insurance; his father, George Pierce, was an aspiring actor, while his mother, Laura Marie Pierce (née Hughes), worked in the field. He has three elder siblings: Barbara and Nancy for his older sisters, and Thomas for his older brother. He is the youngest of the four children.
