Sabrina Carpenter's Birthday Look Referenced an Iconic Rom-Com Fashion Moment

Pop princess Sabrina Carpenter turned the big two-five on Saturday, and to commemorate the milestone, she celebrated in the most iconic way possible. Everything from the guest list to her hilarious cake to her glitzy gold outfit made her birthday bash look straight out of a movie—which was especially fitting as her party dress was inspired by one.

To no one's surprise, the "Espresso" hitmaker did not disappoint when it came to this year's birthday 'fit. Stylist and fashion designer Jared Ellner took inspiration from the one and only Andie Anderson from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, specifically the famous yellow satin, open-back maxi dress, for Carpenter's big night out. The singer's frock, however, was shortened to an itty-bitty minidress that featured a wide V-neckline, thick glitter-adorned straps, a criss-cross detail across the low open-back, and a glitter-adorned band across the waist, all in the same radiant gold hue.

Carpenter accessorized the dress just as Andie did, with a recreation of her opulent yellow diamond necklace, as well as a smattering of rings. A pair of sunshine-yellow heels with frilly ankle straps completed the look. For glam, she opted for her usual rosy, dewy makeup with champagne eyeshadow, flushed cheeks, and glossy lips. She also styled her shiny gold hair in a bouncy blowout.

Carpenter's boyfriend, Barry Keoghan, threw the lavish fête at DUMBO House in Brooklyn with about 100 of her friends, per People. Among the star-studded guest list was "Princess Diana" rapper Ice Spice, who cut a sexy, edgy figure in a black crochet bra top with cutouts all over, matching tights, and a shaggy cropped jacket. Guests enjoyed karaoke, blue, yellow, and white balloons, and streamers, and a custom drink menu, which included espresso martinis in honor of the Girl Meets World alum's new single.

But the fun didn't stop there. Carpenter capped off the night with a fitting treat: a huge white cake decorated with yellow flowers, gold candles, and an infamous Leonardo DiCaprio meme. The photo in question was one of the Revenant star's selfies edited to look like a Snapchat with the caption, "Nooo don't turn 25 [you're] so sexy aha," which pokes fun at DiCaprio's dating pattern of only having relationships with women under 25.

Keoghan, however, seemed delighted to celebrate Carpenter's 25th trip around the sun, as he gave his girl a huge kiss after she blew out her candles, as reported by TMZ.
