Basic q and chicken Not exactly an elegant environment. Corn sticks and hushpuppies are excellent. I got a small combination plate. This would be ok for a kid.

Extremely Dissappointed. It has been a few years since I dined at Parkers. Today, while I was in Wilson, I stopped in. The food was awesome, but my waiter was horrible. He literally threw my food onto the table. Never said any type of greeting, never asked if I needed anything else, nothing. When I went to the cashier to pay, she was just as bad. No greetings, didn't ask if my meal or service was OK or anything. What happened to the quality customer service that Parker's BBQ prided themselfs?

Just amazing food. The parking lot was mobbed which is a really good sign, but the service is so good, we had our food immediately. Lean pulled pork sandwiches with an absolutely delicious relish and vinegar based bbq sauce that was so fabulous, we bought a bottle. Fresh brewed ice tea, piping hot yummy French fries and fresh rolls. This is so worth a visit.

Had the fried chicken, stew, potatoes, slaw and hush puppies. All were excellent but I recommend the corn sticks over the hush puppies, same thing but crispier.

Arrived in Wilson, NC running from Tropical Storm Ophelia on the Outer Banks. Found a campground in Wilson and wanted to try NC bbq. We’re from Memphis so we’re kinda bbq snobs! 🤣 Lady in the office recommended Parker’s. What a treat! I had the large combo which was chopped pork bbq and a fried chicken breast. Both were excellent. My sides were Brunswick stew and green beans along with cold slaw. I didn’t care for the stew but the other sides were very good. My wife had the bbq chicken which was fall off the bone tender and very flavorful. She commented that it was the best bbq’d chicken she’d had. We had an order of hush puppies which were not to our liking but different strokes for different folks. My wife had a soda to drink and I tried their sweet tea, which was very good. Service was second to none with young men greeting you and serving. If you’re not ready to eat don’t order because it will be at your table pronto! An unexpected surprise in Wilson and we enjoyed our evening there.

Stopped in for the first time on 9/9/23 II had the flounder and shrimp which was good my wife had a chopped bbq plate which was not good, the fries were room temp the cornbread sticks were hard as a rock, the chicken livers were not good, I don’t understand all the crowd and hype? and you have to pay with cash or a check or get charged to get cash out of the ATM how convenient. Won’t be back

Passing through the area enroute to Florida, I decided to forego the close-by Crackerbarrel in favor of some authentic Carolina BBQ. Tucked away in a run down section on US 301 , Parkers (since 1946) was a treat. The large dinner plate, which included a hefty helping of pulled pork, a moist, delicious fried chicken breast along with vinegar cole slaw, fries and a portion of brunswick stew for 10 bucks, was more than enough for me. The atmosphere appears little changed from the 1950's , and the friendly, helpful staff was very attentive. The only disappointments were the corn sticks and hush puppies...served at room temp and tasteless. Refreshments are limited to soft drinks, and house vinegar sauces are available on the table. Worth the short drive from local hotels if you're looking for real East Carolina BBQ at a great price.

What a disappointment. My husband and I were on a road trip through the Carolinas and read good reviews on this restaurant so stopped by hoping for good bar b q and what a shock to get such horrible food. It had to be the worst bar b q we have ever eaten. It was chopped to a mush, had no flavor and cold. The corn sticks were like eating cardboard. How this restaurant has received good reviews is unbelievable. The only positive is the staff is friendly.

This was our 3rd trip to Parker's and still can't believe you get that much food for the price. Our large vinegar based BBQ plates was perfect with excellent slightly sweet Cole slaw and one of my favorite Brunswick stews. Good hush puppies, but I still don't care for the corn sticks, any corn sticks. The sweet tea is fantastic, with that little pitcher. Service is too fast to believe, and the atmosphere is old school wonderful.

Since I hadn’t eaten at Parker’s in about 20 years, I was really looking forward to eating here tonight as we passed through Wilson. It was one of the worst meals my wife and I have ever had at a restaurant. I had the small combination (dark meat chicken) and my wife had the large combo since she prefers white meat chicken. We received our food within 3 minutes of placing our order. The BBQ looked like it went through a food processor, not chopped, was very mushy, and had zero flavor. Everything on our plate was cold (BBQ, French fries, boiled potatos, Brunswick stew, and chicken). We called our server over and told him everything was cold. He took it away and within 5 minutes or less came back with fresh food. Our Brunswick stew and boiled potato were hot, however the BBQ, chicken, and French fries were still cold. My wife didn’t eat any of the food. I smothered mine with Texas Pete just so it had flavor and ate the cold mushy good. Horrible food but nice server. Never going back.

Clearly this is a popular restaurant and the prices are very reasonable. The chopped NC barbecue needed no additional seasoning. The couple slaw had mustard added similar to southern style potato salad. Hush puppies were good and corn bread sticks were crunchy. The Brunswick stew was bland. At a total of $16 with water and iced tea to drink, this was certainly reasonable for decent food. But I would not go out of my way to stop here again.

The Chopped pork BBQ was Very good. I would recommend it and its not terribly far off I-95 and IMO, worth it. The BBQ itself was moist and the sauce was tangy and complimented the pork but didn't drowned out the smoke taste of the Q. Next time I'm down that way I'm going to dine in and try a dinner.

Been going to this restaurant for years, and tonight is one of the worst meal we every had. Not sure if it was just an off night or what. We had family style and it was all cool. The BBQ was greasy and full of gristle. We asked for different order and they were a little warmer. We'll give them another try on our way through later in the year an pray it's a lot better.
