Henry's fiancee Beth kicks him out after discovering his audio recordings of their intimate life and his confession that he may no longer love her. After Beth confides in Charlie, a compassionate stranger, Charlie entangles herself in the couple's lives by helping Henry rehearse the perfect sequence of words that will regain Beth's trust. Charlie and Henry's recordings of imagined conversations become a game where intimacy and identity may be real or imagined.

Ambitious, but unfocused. Distracted by the dissection of its own premise.
A wannabe thriller in the guise of a quirky indie dramedy, amplified by a droning, bass-heavy score that makes some scenes genuinely feel like (honestly) Lars von Trier's ANTICHRIST (ex. a shower scene late in the film).
Its least sensical moments are curiously its most lyrical. Upon first meeting, Brian McGuire (Henry) and Sonja Kinski (Charlie) dance together in a slow-motion montage that I still cannot tell whether is real or imagined. Moments like this are the highlight of the film. Unfortunately, the film concerns itself far too much with its plot rather than surrendering itself to the kind of effortless storytelling elegantly represented in the above example. Feels…
