The mod system is very good, allows you to take a wide variety of classes you're interested in. Teachers are passionate, and there is a good community.
The Cambridge School of Weston is an extraordinary learning environment for high school students. Teachers are experts in their fields, advanced in their pedagogy, and dedicated to personal relationships with their students. My son, who will graduate this year, had the opportunity to grow as a learner and thinker and to immerse himself in a wide-range of extra-curricular activities. He has been well-prepared for college as a scholar and a human at CSW. I highly recommend this school!
My daughter is finishing her second year at CSW. She plays on multiple varsity sports teams and participates in multiple clubs. She, my wife and I all love the school. The academics are excellent with really interesting college prep classes. Additionally, diversity of thought is also really applauded at the school. While CSW has been known for its academic excellence, I also find it is a real hidden gem for its athletics. CSW has a real concept of "team" in their athletics. For example, my daughter played has played on town, travel, and high-level club soccer teams for many years and after playing on the Women's Varsity soccer team, her first comment was that it was easily her favorite team because of the team culture and team dynamics. This "Team" concept applies to all CSW sports, and I have found the coaching staff to not only be culture focused, but also experienced. For example, the women's hoops coach played in the NBA. I wholeheartedly recommend CSW.
I am the owner of Boston United Volleyball Club, we have been fortunate enough to rent space in the beautiful gymnasium @ The Cambridge School of Weston for the past few years. It is so impressive to watch the development of the athletic teams under Alan Miles - most teams are highly competitive and the volleyball program, under Coach Ted, is ready to break through to being a true championship contender. The facilities are absolutely state of the art - everything our nationally competitive program requires to compete at the highest level. We tell all of our athletes that CSW is a fantastic option for them and I hope that my young children will one day get to attend!
The community is incredibly kind and respectful and the atmosphere is very supportive. Teachers are very passionate and happy to help students whenever possible. Students have a lot of freedom in course selection, and students can take up many different leadership positions. There are a large amount of clubs and affinity groups, and students can start new ones very easily.
i enjoyed my time at the cambridge school of weston, i made good friends and enjoyed all the classes i took
Going here was the worst decision of my life. I spent 2 yrs here and had to leave to save myself. The school is filled with so many drug alphabet soup confused kids. They are discusting. They don't care at all how your doing and the teachers turn blind eyes to big problems. They are so focused of diversity and being progressive that they forget about what's important. They are so far left and can't seem to understand any view that's not their own. This and an afull hell hole school.
The Cambridge School of Weston is an expansive canvas for students seeking a multifaceted educational experience. Often stereotyped as an art-centric institution, it extends far beyond, offering a rich tapestry of disciplines from sports to mathematics, sciences, and more.
When it comes to sports, CSW has undergone a remarkable evolution. Hosting prestigious events like the NEPSAC Cross Country Championship Race and the lively Annual Gryphon Goblet Basketball Tournament right on campus showcases our commitment. Moreover, the recent establishment of a track team has brought another dimension to our athletic prowess.
CSW's sports programs are not merely about wins and losses but about fostering personal growth, teamwork, and inclusivity. It's a space where athletes find their stride and newcomers discover their passions within a supportive community, echoing the school's overarching commitment to holistic student development.

CSW was an outstanding high school for my daughter! Her courses were fantastic; the Mod system and relationships with faculty greatly helped prepare her for college; and she loved participating in theater, music, sports, and campus leadership activities! (While the pandemic hitting in the spring of her ninth grade year had significant impact, the school handled it all superbly. I work in a middle & high school, so I know firsthand.) As a parent, I always felt very informed and connected, on both micro and macro levels. Overall, we could not have been happier with the experience! CSW was a critical and beautiful part of our daughter’s growth. She misses her CSW family, but she is now happy and thriving at a selective college away from home. Who could ask for more?!
Our student chose The Cambridge School of Weston for it's breadth and depth of both curriculum and experiences. It has met every expectation and more! We have every confidence that this education is preparing our student for college and beyond.
Sending my daughter to CSW was the worst mistake I ever made and she ever made. It is not the place for an academically ambitious girl who wants to set personal boundaries and be an independent thinker. AS CSW there was no room for diversity of thoughts and if you expressed a different opinion or asked questions about prevailing beliefs you risk being scorned, shunned and told to shut up.

Our family lives in a town blessed with high-performing public schools, but we worry about the emphasis on standardized tests and the college application "arms race." We work in K-12 education and care a lot about HOW schools teach. Our boys are bright and creative problem-solvers who LOVE to learn when they are in charge of their own learning--building computers, drones, and robots, searching for "how to" videos online, teaching themselves hands-on skills. Too much of middle school felt like stacks of worksheets that left them uninspired. CSW encouraged them to "think outside the box" and to be *engaged* in their high school
experience.
Today, our sons both study mechanical engineering at a great university. They said they were incredibly well prepared for their calculus and engineering classes, and also with college level writing, and the application process wasn't stressful: the counselors at CSW made the whole endeavor feel shockingly humane.

CSW is a one of a kind experience. You will graduate with some level of appreciation for the school no matter who you are.
The social scene is a little different than most other high schools. It's up to you if you want different (not any better or worse just different).

I love it here! The teachers are amazing and, for the most part, the other students are really nice.
I love the sense of community that you feel, and the amount of INTERESTING classes you can choose from. All teachers are very open and caring about the work that you do. The school has prepared for a lot of essay writing which is what I'm going to have to do a lot of with my PSYCH major in college.
CSW is a great place for creative learners, and provides enriching opportunities for young people, although is not the most affordable.
I am currently a junior at CSW and so far my experience here has been very positive. There could always be changes made but I believe CSW does a great job at listening to the student's needs.
the only redeeming quality about this school is the faculty (by that I mean only teachers). the administration is subpar, college counseling department is abysmal, and the food is horrendous. the arts departments are wonderful, and the faculty there are helpful and talented, and the history and science departments are, for the most part, delightful and knowledgeable. Math is a solid department with a lot of disruption. Keep in mind that ALL of these departments, sans the arts, experience massive amounts of turnover. the sports are pretty bad, but is a program that cares, at least. The facilities are very nice everywhere, and the buildings and grounds are well kept. The students body is interesting and diverse (not racially, the school pretends to be but is NOT). they are losing money, and are desperate for students. if you have a brain, you will get in. the faculty CARES however. the academics are not rigorous, and do not prepare you well for college academics.
Fantastic school for a progressive education. Awesome teachers, awesome curriculum. CSW especially shines as a place where all people are welcome -- those who think outside-the-box, those who are different, those who are looking for their tribe, those who are struggling in their search for a place to fit in. This is your alma mater. These are your people.
