Had to book several months in advance on line to finally get in. Tried on several other trips to Rome by trying to book the same week we were here but they were always full. Our seating was in the cellars that are actually part of their wine cav with over 2000 Italian wines alone. We ordered the carbonara which is what they are famous for and it was delicious- my husband had Vongole- also delicious. We were very surprised by the size and choices of the menu since all we really knew was their pasta. Beautiful platters of various cheeses and meats, bruschetta plied with fresh tomatoes and herbs. As a starter we had fresh spinach sauted in French butter with aged Parmesan and it was so good we had a second plate. With the fabulous food and great friendly service it’s hard to recommend highly enough- just book before your trip.

We had a great time at Roscioli. I had booked a Bar sitting a few months back but upon arriving, the venue changed us to the outdoor verdana without any explanation. I was very disappointed but the experience was recovered by our waiter Alex, who was the only staff covering 8 tables outside. He was very friendly, efficient and carried the service effortlessly. The food was well made and delicious. Good experience.

We stuck to the traditionals like cacio e pepe and were not disappointed. The quality of the ingredients certainly comes through. Would highly recommend. Just a short walk from the Pantheon.

We heard that the burrata here was a must have and it was! It can be prepared several ways, we had the burrata with black pepper, tomatoes and fried sage - so good. The pasta dishes were probably the best that we have had in Rome. We had the cacio e pepe and la carbonara. This is a very small place and I would strongly suggest getting a reservation as the place was packed right at opening.

This was one of the highlights of our vacation in Italy. The food was amazing and the service was warm and welcoming. We sat in the wine cellar and the tables were far enough apart to feel comfortable and able to talk without hearing other conversations. The burrata appetizer was superior to any other burrata we had. The pasta was cooked just al dente with a tasty sauce. Don't leave without ordering the desert. Our party had several choices and they were all magic on your tongue.

Not a good experience at all! It is unfortunate my wife and I were looking forward to eating here, as we walked in and sat things seemed great the waiter asked if we wanted a menu in English and I said yes they sat us down. 1st there was no one else at that time. The menu stated they would gladly honor a request for the pasta to be cooked more. I was super excited as I can’t eat al dente pasta my stomach can’t handle it. We asked for a basket of bread it came out and we at 2 pieces of bread and it was not good but we were still hopeful, we ordered an appetizer and that was good then a couple next to us Italian’s were saying that it was to cold they asked for them to cook pasta they had in a bag as well as a jar that they gave to the waiter, I started looking at other tables and we were the last to receive our food but the first to order. I tried my pasta and it was not cooked as they offered in the menu and as I had requested. I made sure and asked my wife to try before saying anything, waiter came back and we both let him know it was not cooked longer and the pasta was still undercooked. He took it back and didn’t say anything but we could tell right away he was not happy I send it back he comes with a new plate and again it was not cooked enough why put it on the menu if they are not willing to do it. I understand and respect that’s the way they cook pasta in Italy and I don’t order pasta because of it. We asked for the check by this time the waiter and waitress were talking about us because they didn’t know I understand the language very well. I look over as I’m paying and they fully comped the Italian couple in front of us because they were cold and they did not ask for a discount I know because you sit very very close to other tables so you can hear everything. I didn’t expect a discount or not to pay for our food even when my wife’s dinner was not good at all, what I find despicable is that they treat people differently so who cares about the American people that spend millions of € each year because they don’t understand and they are just here for vacation! On top of it all i was so sick it ruined the rest of our day. Long story short, poor service, subpar food quality, extremely loud and jam packed.

We visited here for lunch, and were lucky enough to get a table as you are supposed to have a reservation which we weren’t aware of. It is an unusual little place with a deli type counter at the front of the restaurant selling all sorts of goods . It has seating on street level and both upstairs and downstairs . The menu is extensive as is the wine list and I was sorry that we were only there for lunch and were short for time . Staff were very friendly and attentive and seemed to be very knowledgeable for making recommendations for both the food and wines All the dishes we tried were absolutely top class probably the best we had while in Rome , all delicious flavours . Definitely recommend

To be honest, I’ve expected a bit more from this place based on the reviews. Really enjoyed the cheese and deli selections - and there are lots of them! All the ones we’d tried tasted great - my fav was the truffle mortadella! However, pasta and dessert were disappointing. My cacio e pepe was way too salty and was impossible to eat unfortunately. I’ve had many and was looking forward to trying one at Roscioli. Tiramisu was a bit dry as well - the cookies had no coffee flavor whatsoever and were just raw and crunchy, with cream on top. Service wasn’t the best but not the worst either. However, for the price point, there are better places in Rome to have a dinning experience at in my opinion.

What a wonderful restaurant. I brought eight people with me last week while visiting Rome. A friend highly recommended the restaurant. It did not disappoint. We had a wonderful time sitting in the wine cellar. The food and service were on spot. What a special night in Rome. My friends kept thanking me for making the reservation!! I highly recommend Roscioli. It was worth the trip to Rome. I can’t wait to come back.

The pasta and the carpaccio were very good. They offered free bread, which included many different types and a free small dessert at the end. The location is in the center, the athmosphere was great and the service was excellect. Everything was perfect! The menu also had many choices making it difficult to choose from (in a good way).

This was one of my favorites while in Rome. We were in the basement, surrounded by wine. A little crammed but who cares when the food is so good. The wine list will make choosing really difficult! Service friendly and efficient. Roscioli family restaurants/bakery are an institution in Rome. Worth trying.

Worst fish I’ve been served. I liked the rest but to serve that dry cardboard of a fish to a customer is just offensive. You are in Italy, get the pasta..

Superb food. Described by many as the best Carbonara in Rome, we had to try. We were not disappointed! The food and service here is top notch. We were very lucky to get a table as they seem to be booked weeks in advance, definitely worth the effort of planning though.
