Stephen Curry has netted a new scripted project as the basketball superstar continues making inroads as a Hollywood playmaker.
Curry’s producing banner Unanimous Media and David Henrie‘s Cedar Hill are developing the basketball-focused comedy feature Trick Shot. A director has yet to be attached to the film that has a script from Jay Longino, whose previous writing credits include Uncle Drew (2018) and Skiptrace (2016).
Trick Shot centers on a middle school student who is dismal at basketball until a freak accident occurs, and he suddenly can’t miss a shot. His newfound hoops talent leads him to become an unexpected NBA rookie, where he is soon an integral member of his favorite team.

Curry is a four-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors and widely regarded as one of the sport’s greatest shooters. Curry is involved with a number of Hollywood projects, including the forthcoming Peacock mockumentary series Mr. Throwback that counts him as star and executive producer, and he recently served as executive producer on the Netflix animated series Good Times. He was the focus of the sports documentary Stephen Curry: Underrated, which launched on Apple TV+ last year.
David Henrie got his start as a child actor on the Disney Channel series The Wizards of Waverly Place opposite Selena Gomez and is set to reprise his role on the new spinoff show Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. He will also play a younger version of former President Ronald Reagan in the movie Reagan, slated for release later this year with Dennis Quaid as the title character’s older self.
