1. Insert a SIM card - Android Help

Complete your Android setup

1. Insert a SIM card

Your SIM card is a removable chip that stores important info about your phone.

  1. Find your SIM card.
  2. Open the SIM tray on your device.
  3. Place your SIM card into the SIM tray.
  4. Put the SIM tray back into your device.

Typically, you receive your SIM card from your mobile service provider. Your phone might also be equipped to use an eSIM.

Important: Many devices will automatically approve your operator services after you insert your SIM card. If your device shows an error message or if you have any issues with your SIM card or operator services, get help from your mobile operator.
