Does your Rolex run fast or slow??

So I have 2 Rolex watches (both datejust). One runs a bit slow, I have to adjust it every month, and the other runs a bit too fast, I too have to adjust that one once a month.

Is this a common problem with you guys as well??

Depends on how stored. many run fast when worn regularly.

All my 3235s run slow. If it would lose >10 seconds a day a prob Id react, otherwise, just get a digital an easy one.

My GMT Master II runs about 4 seconds slow on a winder. If I lay it on the night stand face up, it is spot on. My other 3 Modern Rolex all at +or - 1 sec per day.
I do have a 1999 DJ which runs about 5-7seconds fast per day, which I don't worry about.

Adjusting once a month is pretty darn good, IMO.

If you're not already, when not wearing, rest the one running slow with the dial/face point up. For the fast one, rest it on it's side with the crown pointing down (as it doesn't sound like it's running terribly fast.)

My 16570 seemed to be gaining a second every 3-4 days until today when I noticed it seems to have lost a second.

Worn everyday, face up at night, checked against IPhone

If you only have to adjust your watches once per month, I'd say that those are precise watches, regardless of the numbers.

So I thought I would experiment with my watch's accuracy based on resting position vs. worn daily. The watch has never been serviced and I purchased the watch new from an AD in June 2004.

I wound the watch 40+ times and set the time through time.gov website for each test. Here's what I found (not wearing the watch but it remaining in the box for 24 hours each time):

Crown down - +/- 0
Crown up - +2
Face up - +4
Face down - +6
When worn throughout the day - +4

Are you new to mechanical watches or something? If Rolex's spec is +/- 2 seconds per day, that obviously has a cumulative affect over time.

Since I got my 1675 back from service about 8 months ago, it's a little over 1 second fast per day. I wear it all the time, and it stays awake on my wrist while I sleep at night. I'm quite happy with the accuracy. Off by a bit over 1 second out of 86400 seconds in a day! For a mechanical thing with constantly running gears that's almost 50 years old, I can definitely live with that. If you want complete accuracy, then it's time for a quartz or Apple watch.

Depends on which one. Some fast. Some slow. Some deadly accurate for over a month.

Both of mine run slow but are rock solid consistent and within COSC, which is fine as one has the brown tag from back in the day and the other has the green tag.
I'm not loosing any sleep
My wife's watch consistently runs fast and is outside COSC despite the fact it has a green tag, we're not concerned as it helps her to be more punctual.

Either way, all 3 watches easily meet the current standard for precision so it's all good

None of the Rolex watches we have in the family is a good time keeper (8 of them).
We gave up worrying about atomic clock precision long time ago

The 126610 Ive been wearing daily runs at +1 on the timegrapher and .01 beat error. Seems to run really well. My BB58 runs even tighter, +0, zero beat error.

My 116610LN i wear daily. Used to be -1 per day and now its +1 per day *♂️ Prefer it running a little fast (+1) than slow though.

My Deepsea loses about 0.5-1.0 s/d.
My 16710 gains about 2.0-4.0 s/d.
Depending on the conditions.

My Air King is about 7s fast a day (still about a month after getting it back from service at RSC....has me wondering if I should send it back in. Not that 7s a day is bad in the grand scheme of things, but it's being 7s/day right after a service that makes me ) and my GMT Master II is about -2 a day.

I prefer my watches to be fast rather than slow or dead on. I use my watch for time and not my phone, so I like making sure I'm not late to something.
