Prince of Monaco, winner of the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity last year, worked a bullet five furlongs at Santa Anita on Monday. His time of 59.0 seconds from the gate was the joint fastest of 25 works over the course and distance. His stablemate Cornell, a maiden winner, also worked from the gate in the same time. He last raced in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, finishing fifth behind Fierceness.

Gun Pilot, who won the Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) on May 4, returned to the work tab Monday. The Steve Asmussen trainee worked an easy four furlongs in 51.6 seconds. Though he ran off the board in three graded races last year, the 4-year-old Gun Runner son has won three of four starts this year and is emerging as a top-class sprinter.
