‘Downtown Abbey’ Actor Hugh Bonneville Splits From Wife Of 25 Years

The number of Hollywood divorces this year are only increasing.

While some ‘Downtown Abbey’ stars are finding love (Michelle Dockery who plays Lady Mary Crawley just got married), it seems others are falling out of it.

British acting icon Hugh Bonneville, 59, has separated from his wife Lucinda ‘Lulu’ Williams, 55, after 25 years of marriage.

The report comes out of The Sun, where a spokesperson for the actor said, “I can confirm that Hugh Bonneville and Lulu Williams have separated.”

The report comes after Bonneville was spotted without his wedding ring at Dockery’s wedding to Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s brother, Jasper Waller-Bridge.

Bonneville and Williams share a house together in West Sussex, which sits on the southern coast of the UK, between Portsmouth and Eastbourne.

The pair were married in 1998 and share one son together, Felix, 22.

While the couple appear to have gone their separate ways, they were last publicly seen together in April attending a gala held at the Old Vic Theatre in London. Williams had always been a staunch supporter of her husband’s career, with Bonneville once referring to her as the ‘bedrock’ of their family.

The pair first met when they were teenagers, but connected again later in life.

“Lulu was running a marquee company … my mother rang her to hire some chairs or something and said, ‘Do you remember Hugh?’ and that was how we reconnected,” he explained of their meeting, according to Metro UK.

“It did infuriate me that I had to give full credit to my mum for reintroducing us,” he continued.

Their split comes at a time of many high-profile celebrity divorces, including Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness who split after 27 years together.
