Reviews
- I loved this pressing, it sounds fantastic. I don't agree with other reviews saying that it's lacking textures. It's a very quiet and detailed pressing - more than I was expecting to be honest. I was able to get a copy from RSD leftover stock. Don't pay stupid prices.
- I was hoping for more presence on this album, which is full of lush string arrangements, but like other reviewers, found a pretty lackluster mastering job. Still a wonderful album and highly recommended for those who appreciate textures and arrangements reminiscent of Nick Drake. Hopefully it gets a better pressing further down the road so others aren't at the mercy of RSD price-gouging. Also, shout out to the seller for listing this at sticker price, and not some inflated flipper rate.
- Loved this album back in the day and was excited to get a copy. However, I'm disappointed with the 'remastering' (if it really was) because there is no hint of the presence of sound staging at all. It sounds like a basic stereo mix. Also, my copy is slightly noisy. I give it 3-stars because I still like the album as a whole and it's great to hear all these songs again.
- I was a kid when “Barely Breathing” was a hit, and I am a fan of Mr. Sheik’s scores for Spring Awakening and American Psycho (I need to listen to Alice By Heart and Whisper House), so this was part of my RSD wishlist. Quiet, warm, great pressing. My only complaint is that the static within the inner sleeve was so bad that I feared I would have to slash the sleeve when I tried to extract the record.
- Such a great find! I graduated the year this album came out, about the same time I finally did too!
😂🏳️🌈 What a great piece to own!! - This one was high on my list for todays RSD. One of my favorite releases in 96. Long overdue for a vinyl edition. Vinyl looks fantastic. Great transparent blue. Flat and centered. Sounds a little compressed but to my ears really good. Played through with no pops. A little noise here and there which reduced after a cleaning. Packaging is basic but not cheap. Printed inner. Overall I am really happy to add this nugget to my collection.
