Well if you don’t like polyamory, genderbent Sasuke, or over-the-top councilors/Sakura bashing; no.
Doing an online course during a pandemic not very picky at the moment. I just meant in terms of grammar ( which I am picky with)
I'm in the same boat. I love longfics, since I read far too fast, so fics with several hundred thousand words only last me a few hours, and with the million words, this fic is tempting.
What I've heard about this fic is: that the SPAG is okay. That it's the content you have to watch out for, what with annoying tropes like bashing and council. Most importantly, that the first several chapters would be a challenge, but that it gets better afterwards.
This last one in particular is probably true. I've been trying to read this fic for several days now, but I just can't get past the first half of the first chapter.
Reason: >! This very first chapter starts off with a Naruto post-Mizuki training in a training ground. But not just anything, no. He's training, with hus clones, the air bullet jutsu, which he apparently found in the forbidden seal, but since he didn't have the time during the Mizuki incident for more than the kagebunshin, he's training it now. And not just that, no! He also found and remembered the exploding clone jutsu in that scroll!
That's not all! He's made contact with kyuubi. The flashback to the scene between kyuubi and Naruto when they meet - in his sleep, on the very night he learns if kyuubi's existence, mind - is...
Well, let's just say... The first time I tried to read the fic, I couldn't get past "Wind Style: Air Bullets!" Which is in the first quartervof the first chapter. The second time, it was a few paragraphs later when the exploding clones came up. The third time, I couldn't get past this scene between kyuubi and Naruto. !<
Of course I can't know what your preferences are. For all I know, you might have more patience for that type of thing than I do.
Just putting my experience with this fic in words so you have an idea what you can expect.
Thanks for your reply!! I actually read the first chapter before posting this. I do agree that reading the first chapter was somewhat hard but it was also 3 hours ago (12AM) and I have nothing else to read (not a lot of updates lately) so I am thinking of giving this a chance.
Well, then, mind if I ask for your opinion on it later, at whatever point you feel relevant? I'd love to know how many chapters one has to power through before it gets good and if it's worth it.
I'll let you know what I think about it once it becomes relevant.
