Matt Filipowski enters transfer portal: 5 landing spots
St. John’s
One team that offered Matt out of high school was the Iona Gaels then coached by Rick Pitino. While Pitino has moved on to St. John’s, his program could still be a good fit for Matt. The school is also located in Matt’s home state of New York, which could appeal to the center.
For Matt, this would be an opportunity to return home as well as play for a high-major program in the Big East. If Pitino still has interest in the big man, perhaps the two could come together with the Red Storm. However, St. John’s does already have some talented bigs and may be more interested in guards, but adding Matt would be a low-risk, high-reward move.
