The Irish Tenors have been the acknowledged Celtic music kings since they burst upon the scene during a 1998 tv special from Ireland and then their first U.S. televised show, “Live from Ellis Island” with award-winning actor Martin Sheen as host.

With ten best-selling CDs to their credit, The Irish Tenors – along with The Three Tenors and Andrea Bocelli – have delighted audiences all over the world and are among the most successful acts in PBS history.

The Irish Tenors have performed with symphony orchestras in concert in some of the most stunning and prominent venues in America and beyond from Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Gardens and Carnegie Hall in New York to The Hollywood Bowl in California and The Sydney Opera House, Australia. They have blazed the trail from coast to coast, thrilling audiences at every single stop with their enchanting Irish repertoire, sweeping secular selections, and dynamic holiday fare.

As the leading musical ambassadors from Ireland, The Irish Tenors have not only serenaded Presidents and Prime Ministers, but millions of concert fans, with the full-bodied sound of symphonic backing on every concert and pure tenor harmony.

Their 25th anniversary tour, launched in Ireland in January 2023 and showcases the vocal power and beauty of the talented lineup of Anthony Kearns, Ronan Tynan, and Declan Kelly in a dazzling live experience not to be missed.


Declan Kelly

Declan Kelly, from Gorey, County Wexford, has performed in theatre from an early age, acting and singing at school and for local musical groups. He first qualified as a primary school teacher and later went for singing lessons with Professor Paul Deegan at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. Declan was soon offered a place at the prestigious London Opera Studio and commenced a busy career in opera all over the UK, Ireland the across the opera houses of Europe. He particularly loves the roles of Mozart, Handel and Rossini and the ensemble roles of Bizet, Richard Strauss, Britten, Janacek and Turnage. Declan loves the operettas of Gilbert & Sullivan and was invited to sing Nanki-Poo in The Mikado for the world famous D’Oyly Carte Opera Company in their tour of the UK and Europe. He was also offered the role of Marius in Les Miserables.

Declan is just as much at home in the world of concerts. His debut recital at Dublin’s National Concert Hall of Schumann’s Dichterliebe was received with critical acclaim and he has sung most of the standard tenor oratorio repertoire under such conductors as Myung-Whun Chung, Vladimir Spivakov, Thierry Fischer and Daniele Callegari. For Deutsche Grammophon, Declan was invited to record the tenor solo in Charpentier’s TE DEUM with L’Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome to celebrate the New Millenium for the Vatican. At the world-famous Wexford Opera Festival, Declan recorded Flotow’s Alessandro Stradella with Fone and he also recorded the world premiere of Simon McEnery’s Resurrection, written especially for his voice.

Declan is delighted to have joined up with Ronan and Anthony, his friends for many years, and is looking forward to this exciting anniversary tour.

Anthony Kearns

Anthony Kearns from County Wexford Ireland, began his vocal studies in Dublin in 1993 with the renowned singing teacher Veronica Dunne. His professional career began with The Dublin Grand Opera Society . He took American television audience by storm in 1999 as a member of the wildly-popular PBS super-group, The Irish Tenors which he continues to tour with twice a year. The Irish Tenors became a world-wide sensation as one of Ireland’s most famous touring musicians, They remain one of PBSʼs top-ranked acts ever.

His international solo career includes high-profile celebrity engagements, television appearances, concert tours, and collaborations with the finest orchestras, including the Boston Pops, Pittsburgh Symphony, and the National Symphony Orchestra at the National Memorial Day Concert in the USA.

Mr. Kearns made his official U.S. Grand Opera debut as the tenor in the role of “Edgardo” in Gaetano Donizettiʼs Lucia di Lammermoor with Opera Naples [Florida]. Since then, he has starred as: “Don José” in Georges Bizetʼs Carmen; the tenor with the Royal Dublin Society in The Lily of Killarney(part of “The Irish Ring” trilogy) which toured North America; The tenor role of “Don Ottavio,” in Mozartʼs Don Giovanni at the Lismore Music Festival; and “Alfred” in a concert-staged performance of Johann Straussʼ operetta, Die Fledermaus by the Emerald City [Steamboat Springs, CO, USA] Opera. Upon moving to the U.S., Kearns continued his vocal studies with voice teacher Marlena Malas in New York City.

He returned to Opera Naples in the lead role in Charles Gounodʼs Faust, a role he also performed with Opera Ireland (nominated for best production in the Irish Times Theater Awards). Other roles include “Fenton” in Giuseppe Verdiʼs Falstaff (in Montepulciano, Italy and Dublin Ireland), Alfredo in La Traviata for Lyric opera Ireland and “Nemorino” in Donizettiʼs most performed opera, Lʼelisir dʼamore, with Gulfshore Opera in Naples, FL and with Blackwater valley festival in Lismore, Co Waterford, Ireland .

Mr. Kearns has been fortunate to have performed in the most prestigious venues around the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. He has performed for four U.S. presidents and for Pope Francis at a pre-Mass Concert in Philadelphia.  He released his first solo album in 2013, With a Song in My Heart.

Ronan Tynan

Dr. Ronan Tynan is known for his versatile range of repertoire. It includes the operatic, oratorio, concert, and popular music genres. Dr. Tynan first gained international attention in 1994 after having won both, a televised singing competition in the United Kingdom, and Ireland’s Feis Ceoil Association’s John McCormack Cup for Tenor Voice. A practicing orthopedist at the time, Dr. Tynan continued his music education and voice training at the Leinster School of Music and Drama in Dublin, Ireland. In 1995 Dr. Tynan commenced studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England earning a post-graduate Diploma in Voice. This same year he was the male winner of the International Opera Singing Competition in Marmand, France. In 1998 he became a member of The Irish Tenors, a group with whom he continues to tour with today. Through the years he has participated in Master Classes with Luciano Pavarotti, Italian tenor Ugo Benelli, Australian tenor Ken Neath, American tenor James King, and American soprano Cynthia Lawrence.

Dr. Tynan is currently the Alltech Visiting Artist in Residence with the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre teaching Vocal Performance, Voice and Repertoire classes with a focus in oratorio and opera at the undergraduate and graduate level. Dr. Tynan is also a return soloist with the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the New England Revolution. Beyond his 2014 concert schedule, this year Dr. Tynan has sung at the funerals of two Boston firefighters killed in the line of duty and at two tributes for those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings of 2013. Additionally, at the invitation of Mrs. Barbara Bush, he performed at the 90th birthday celebration of President Bush. As well, Dr. Tynan traveled to Ireland to perform in Cork for the annual charitable event A Summer’s Evening on the Quad and recently sang at the season opener of the Kansas City Chiefs and at Derek Jeter’s final game against the Boston Red Sox.

Dr. Tynan has appeared in concert halls across the United States and internationally. He is a Sony recording artist who has released more than 10 titles, 4 of which have achieved platinum status. Additionally, between 1981 and 1984, Dr. Tynan amassed eighteen gold medals and fourteen world records while participating in the Paralympics, of which he still holds nine.

Dr. Tynan has performed for four U.S. Presidents including President George H.W. Bush and President George W. Bush, as single soloist at the Funeral of President Ronald Reagan, and for President Clinton. As well, Dr. Tynan has sung for two Popes, Pope John Paul II at St. Peter’s Basilica and Pope Benedict at the Concert of Hope. He has also performed at numerous benefits and memorials for the New York Police and Fire Departments following 9/11 and continues to have a strong bond with those devoting their lives to public service. Dr. Tynan is also a sought after motivational speaker, having more than 30 engagements annually.
