      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Stand Up Guys largely wastes its talented cast in a resolutely mediocre comedy hampered by messy direction and a perfunctory script.

Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Viagra is consumed, erections wrestled, old scores settled - blah blah blah. Jun 30, 2013 Full Review Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard An initially promising, increasingly glutinous buddy comedy that exploits and squanders the talents of its starry cast. Rated: 2/5 Jun 28, 2013 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian With a little bit of chutzpah and a fistful of Viagra, the tough guys of yesteryear can still come staggering back to make a decent movie. Rated: 3/5 Jun 27, 2013 Full Review Brian D. Johnson Maclean's Magazine It's sad for all the wrong reasons. Aug 14, 2019 Full Review J. Olson Cinemixtape At least Pacino and Arkin will always have "Glengarry Glen Ross." Rated: 2/5 Apr 17, 2016 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk The pace is too slack, the gags too tired and the plot too hackneyed for the film to be more than fitfully engaging for all but die-hard Pacino and Walken fans. T The cringe shifts into high gear fairly quickly and when combined with glacial storytelling and you will be left shifting uncomfortably in your seat from both. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Tony V Loved it. I was able to let my imagination go in so many of the scenes, filling in gaps for myself, building the characters out as I see them, based on hints dropped during the course of the movie. These star critics must lighten up. Sometimes you must watch a movie with an open mind, watch it for the wonderful moments between characters, watch it for the sake of entertaining your own imagination. Sometimes you must just have an open mind and let the story take you. Not so fresh but a definite must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Daniel F This movie is a guilty pleasure of mine. I see it has mixed reviews but I just love it. Great cast. Great story. Love the ending. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Mike H F*ck Rotten Tomatoes. This is a great movie if you have a sentimental bone in your body. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/23 Full Review jan l How could any movie with Christopher Walken and Al Pacino be bad? I loved the characters and the story Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review John S Loved it, but I could really relate to it because I was down for 13 years.
