PORTLAND, Ore. -- Kennedy Dickie and Maisie Burnham combined to score 48 points in the Portland Pilots' 67-54 victory against the Portland State Vikings on the road Wednesday to finish out nonconference play.
The Pilots (8-6) had three players score in double figures, led by Dickie, who had a career-high 29 points and six rebounds. Burnham tacked on 19 points and Emme Shearer helped out with 11 points and two blocks, with nine of her 11 points coming in the second half.

How It Happened
After jumping out to a 6-3 advantage, Portland went on a 6-0 run with 7:12 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from Shearer, to increase its lead to 12-3. The Pilots then lost some of that lead, but still entered the quarter break with a 15-11 advantage. Portland did most of its first quarter damage in the paint, scoring 10 of its 15 points close to the basket.
Portland State went on a 15-1 run from the final three minutes of the first quarter until halfway through the second to take the lead, a lead they would hold heading into the half 30-27.
The Pilots bounced back in the third, outscoring Portland State 18-11 to overtake the Vikings and grab a 45-41 lead heading into quarter number four. Portland kept widening that lead, expanding it to 53-46 before going on a 6-0 run, finished off by Dickie's layup, to grow the lead to 59-46 with 3:47 to go in the contest. The Pilots held onto that lead for the rest of the game for the 67-54 win.
