Renewed Or Cancelled?
In This Fool, a Hulu comedy series co-created by and starring Chris Estrada, it’s better to be a cupcake-baking “punk-ass bitch” with “lawyer hands” than a gangster with an eight-year prison sentence. At least, in theory.
This delightful comedy has been a great watch but after finishing season 2, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know so far:
What is This Fool about?
Julio Lopez, aforementioned “punk-ass bitch,” may have kept himself off the streets his entire life–but he has a rough time of it working at Hugs Not Thugs, an LA center run by Minister Payne to rehabilitate the toughest of gangsters and thugs. While Julio is great at what he does, he can’t help but feel there’s more to life than living with his mother; an on-again-off-again relationship with the spontaneous Maggie; and a low-paying, grueling (albeit rewarding) job.
Julio’s cousin’s release from prison presents him with an opportunity to do something meaningful for his family. He enrolls Luis in Hugs Not Thugs and takes on a role as his mentor. But nothing can prepare him for the challenge of guiding Luis to the straight-and-narrow path–not to mention all the zany situations the cousins will get into.
Has This Fool been renewed for season 3?
At the time of writing, Hulu have not renewed This Fool for a third season. Given the nature of this series, that could change if it does good numbers for the streamers.
Generally Hulu , like other streaming platforms, gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton etc.) Other times, it can take months before Hulu and Disney make a decision over a show’s future.
So far, This Fool has had a good reaction from audiences and critics alike, with the series easy to watch and also armed with a simple but effective hook, making for a really enjoyable binge-watch.
Given how well this series has done in the past, we predict that Hulu will renew This Fool for a follow-up season. Now, that could change but this seems like there’s more to come in the future.

What we know about season 3 so far:
Not much is known about season 3 at the time of writing, given Hulu have not officially renewed this one yet. Should the streamers decide to greenlight this one, it’s fair to assume that all of our characters will be returning, with plenty more drama in the pipeline. We could also see some brand new characters to shake things up too!
It’s likely that Hulu and Disney will make an official announcement several months from now, once the final viewing figures are in, but for now we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll be sure to update this section with more information as it becomes available.

Yes season 3 and even more. This is the best show I have watched in years. I’m hooked. Hulu have the writers continue in, and hope the flow continues as well.

This Fool has been the funniest show I’ve watched in a LONG time. FINALLY! They nailed a hilarious show that’s raw, dirty, and real without being offensive, racist, or unsettling. The jokes are simple, the laughs are genuine and non-political, and I appreciate the writing and acting. The music is also amazing. This show is the best. If it doesn’t go to season 3, that’d be an epic fail for us all. SERIOUSLY..

Yes, please may we have more of Julio & Luis? What happens in Cambodia? What does Julio find out in therapy? Do they ever move out of the garage? Will Julio’s mom be found out about the spa? Will Jorge take over the cafe? Will Mister Payne bring his son back to LA? What’s his back story? Can we see more of Julio & Luis’ back story? Maybe the mothers’ also. They are all wonderful funny lovable characters trying to get through the day. Hope there are many more seasons. Thank you!
Just finished season 2 and sad it ended. Would really love to season more seasons to come! It was hilarious and I hope Julio and Maggie get married! And his cousin gets ruby pregnant. Ao much potential in this series they have to keep it going!

I started watching This Fool a while back. I don’t know why I stopped. I watched both seasons this past weekend and I was laughing so hard. Like a big belly laugh. Please GOD make Hulu renew for season 3.

Yes definitely! Especially the way they waited until the literal last second to show Luis flying to Cambodia. I think they will show a little part of his trip un season 3. Also the way they just gave us a little snippit of Julios beggining of his first therapy session, right away gave us a little break through to Julios possible depression through Jorge. Definitely a season 3.
